js.id = id;\n  js.src = \"\/\/connect.facebook.net\/en_US\/all.js#xfbml=1\";\n  fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js, fjs);\n}(document, 'script', 'facebook-jssdk'));\n\/\/ ]]><\/script>\n<\/p>\n<p align=\"CENTER\"><strong>O LORD, <\/strong>we were once companions. <br \/>You and I, <br \/>walking hand in hand in the garden of my heart. <br \/>But now, <em>where are you my Lord?<\/em> <br \/>I seek you, <br \/>but find only the faded corners where once we loved <br \/>and you revealed to me your secrets. <br \/>There too, I found your Mother <br \/>and felt her intimate touch to my brow.<\/p>\n<p>But now, <em>where are you?<\/em> <br \/><!--more-->Indeed, I left, <br \/>but have returned, <br \/>and the garden, once lush, has become brown and sterile,<br \/>dusty and desolate, <br \/><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/www.markmallett.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/forest-through-the-trees.jpg\" width=\"467\" height=\"291\" \/>adorned only by dried leaves and bare twigs&#8230;<br \/>and the fleeting shadows of memory.<br \/> It is my fault\u2014<em>mea culpa. <br \/><\/em>It is my sin, my choices, my rebellion, my doubt, my failure <br \/>that has destroyed the garden of my heart. <br \/>I have invited you back\u2014but hear only the wind,<br \/> mingled with tears for what once was, <br \/>but is no more.<\/p>\n<p>For my beloved is gone, <br \/>and with Him, all peace, all hope, all joy.<\/p>\n<p align=\"CENTER\">And so,<br \/> I will sit here upon the stone cold bench of <br \/>truth and reality, <br \/>and <br \/>wait. <br \/>Perhaps, He will come,<br \/> and the desert of my heart will become a <br \/>garden <br \/>again.<\/p>\n<p align=\"CENTER\">~~~~~~~~~~~<\/p>\n<p align=\"CENTER\"><em>My child\u2014my lover. <br \/>Where have I gone but to the center of the garden,<br \/> the center of your heart? <br \/>There I await you, to find Me where I am. <br \/>You seek Me in the corners, that is, the consolations that once were. <br \/>But now I draw you deeper,<br \/> deeper <br \/>into <br \/>the <br \/>center <br \/>where there lies a hidden Oasis. <br \/><\/em><\/p>\n<p align=\"CENTER\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/www.markmallett.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/HiddenPool_000.jpg\" width=\"317\" height=\"348\" \/><\/p>\n<p align=\"CENTER\"><em>I am that Oasis, disguised beneath the fallen leaves and tall grasses.<br \/> Come to the center of your heart. <br \/>Come to the place of naked truth <br \/>where there are no more corners to hide,<br \/> no side-paths to escape, <br \/>no benches to rest\u2014<br \/>but only the deep pool of My unfathomable love. <br \/>Come, fall into this pool,<br \/> into the Abyss of my Merciful Heart.<br \/> Yes, leave behind now the supports and expectations of yesterday<br \/> and <br \/>plunge<br \/> into <br \/>the<br \/> depths <br \/>of the <br \/>Unknown <br \/>where one sees without seeing, <br \/>knows without knowing,<br \/> and loves without, at times, feeling love. <\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>The pool of My Heart, within the inner garden of your soul,<\/em><br \/><em> is the true resting place.<\/em><br \/><em><br \/>See, I have not abandoned you, <br \/>but have led you into the depths of your own heart united to Mine. <br \/>My heart, the center of your heart\u2014your heart, the center of Mine.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Here now, My child, it is time to go deeper,<\/em><\/p>\n<p align=\"CENTER\"><em>to <br \/>leave <br \/>behind <\/em><\/p>\n<p align=\"CENTER\"><em>that which can no longer help but hinder your soul <br \/>from <br \/>divine union with Me. <br \/>Do not linger any longer in the places where once we met,<br \/> for I am not there&#8230;<br \/> &#8230;and you will not find the One for whom you long. <\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>But My child, <\/em><br \/><em>Here I am, <\/em><br \/><em>in the <\/em><br \/><em>center <\/em><br \/><em>of your heart, <\/em><br \/><em>hidden not from your spirit, <\/em><br \/><em>but mind and soul (it must be so, for now).<\/em><br \/><em>Enter through the gate of faith,<\/em><br \/><em> lifting the handle of trust, <\/em><br \/><em>and plunge your whole being into the abyss<\/em><br \/><em> of My love and mercy.<\/em><\/p>\n<p align=\"CENTER\"><em>And we will love more than ever before&#8230;
