One is that people simply don&#8217;t want to hear that everything is not peachy.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p align=\"LEFT\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><strong>It\u2019s our very sleepiness to the presence of God that renders us insensitive to evil: we don\u2019t hear God because we don\u2019t want to be disturbed, and so we remain indifferent to evil&#8230; the disciples\u2019 sleepiness [in Gethsemane] is not a problem of that one moment, rather of the whole of history, \u2018the sleepiness\u2019 is ours, of those of us who do not want to see the full force of evil and do not want to enter into his Passion<\/strong>. \u2014POPE BENEDICT XVI, Catholic News Agency, Vatican City, Apr 20, 2011, General Audience<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p align=\"LEFT\"><!--more--><\/p>\n<p align=\"LEFT\">The second reason is that <em>God&#8217;s timing is not our own<\/em>. This becomes clear as St. Paul chronicles the history of the Israelites from the time of the Exodus to the coming of Christ\u2014over fifteen hundred years had lapsed! Likewise, over 2000 years have gone by since the first Easter, and the promises of Scripture have yet to reach their total fulfillment.<\/p>\n<p align=\"LEFT\">And so, we fall asleep.<\/p>\n<p align=\"LEFT\">But there will come a time, as St. Paul leads to John the Baptist, when God will raise up <em>immediate precursors <\/em>to prophesied times. St. John XXIII, our recently canonized pope, seemed to feel his reign was prophetic\u2014to prepare the Church for an &#8220;era of peace.&#8221;<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p align=\"LEFT\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><strong>The task of humble Pope John is to \u201cprepare for the Lord a perfect people,\u201d which is exactly like the task of the Baptist, who is his patron and from whom he takes his name. The Virgin Mary is appearing in various places, beckoning, encouraging, calling, and <em>warning<\/em>. And Jesus Himself revealed to St. Faustina that we are in a &#8220;time of mercy.&#8221; Indeed, a mere cursory glance at the daily headlines reveals a world that is strikingly on the verge of <em>globally <\/em>living out the <em>seals of Revelation <\/em>and those labour pains described by Jesus. <span class=\"footnote_referrer\"><a role=\"button\" tabindex=\"0\" onclick=\"footnote_moveToReference_15275_1('footnote_plugin_reference_15275_1_3');\" onkeypress=\"footnote_moveToReference_15275_1('footnote_plugin_reference_15275_1_3');\" ><sup id=\"footnote_plugin_tooltip_15275_1_3\" class=\"footnote_plugin_tooltip_text\">[3]<\/sup><\/a><span id=\"footnote_plugin_tooltip_text_15275_1_3\" class=\"footnote_tooltip\">cf. <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.markmallett.com\/blog\/the-seven-seals-of-revolution\/\">Seven Seals of Revolution<\/a><\/em><\/span><\/span><script type=\"text\/javascript\"> jQuery('#footnote_plugin_tooltip_15275_1_3').tooltip({ tip: '#footnote_plugin_tooltip_text_15275_1_3', tipClass: 'footnote_tooltip', effect: 'fade', predelay: 0, fadeInSpeed: 200, delay: 400, fadeOutSpeed: 200, position: 'top right', relative: true, offset: [10, 10], });<\/script> To be honest, I am thankful that God has granted as much <em>time <\/em>to us as He has. Have the prophecies of the past century failed&#8230; or are they about to unfold?<\/p>\n<p align=\"LEFT\">Whether we see the era of peace that St. John XXIII began to prepare us for, the Antichrist, or the Triumph of the Immaculate Heart, we know we can count on the faithfulness of God, whatever comes:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p align=\"LEFT\"><span style=\"font-family: Courier New,Courier,mono; font-size: small;\">For you have said, \u201cMy kindness is established forever\u201d. (Today&#8217;s Psalm)<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p align=\"LEFT\">But this is not an excuse to ignore the signs of the times, but rather, face them head on with the confidence of sons and daughters of the Most High.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p align=\"LEFT\"><span style=\"font-family: Courier New,Courier,mono; font-size: small;\">From now on I am telling you before it happens, so that when it happens you may believe that I AM.
