(Wis 6:12-14)<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Brothers and sisters, the great minds of this world have become shrouded in darkness. (Gen 11:6)<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>There is no longer need for God, they say. And if there is no need for God, then the moral order established in His name is likewise obsolete.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: 'Courier New', Courier, mono; font-size: small;\">Denounce! let us denounce him!\u00a0(First reading)<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>It&#8217;s not that the works of charity of the Church aren&#8217;t recognized, aren&#8217;t lauded as commendable. It&#8217;s just that she claims to do them in the name of God, calling others to imitate them. And that has become intolerable.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: 'Courier New', Courier, mono; font-size: small;\">The Jews picked up rocks to stone Jesus. Jesus answered them, \u201cI have shown you many good works from my Father.\u00a0For which of these are you trying to stone me?\u201d The Jews answered him, \u201cWe are not stoning you for a good work but for blasphemy. You, a man, are making yourself God.\u201d (Today&#8217;s Gospel)<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The Church has claimed her divine authority to preach and teach the nations all that Jesus has commanded. <span class=\"footnote_referrer\"><a role=\"button\" tabindex=\"0\" onclick=\"footnote_moveToReference_18821_1('footnote_plugin_reference_18821_1_3');\" onkeypress=\"footnote_moveToReference_18821_1('footnote_plugin_reference_18821_1_3');\" ><sup id=\"footnote_plugin_tooltip_18821_1_3\" class=\"footnote_plugin_tooltip_text\">[3]<\/sup><\/a><span id=\"footnote_plugin_tooltip_text_18821_1_3\" class=\"footnote_tooltip\">cf. Matt 28:19-20<\/span><\/span><script type=\"text\/javascript\"> jQuery('#footnote_plugin_tooltip_18821_1_3').tooltip({ tip: '#footnote_plugin_tooltip_text_18821_1_3', tipClass: 'footnote_tooltip', effect: 'fade', predelay: 0, fadeInSpeed: 200, delay: 400, fadeOutSpeed: 200, position: 'top right', relative: true, offset: [10, 10], });<\/script> And now we hear the clamoring of nations wishing to stone her moral voice as well.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: 'Courier New', Courier, mono; font-size: small;\">Terror on every side!&#8230; The breakers of death surged round about me, the destroying floods overwhelmed me; the cords of the nether world enmeshed me, the snares of death overtook me. (First reading and Psalm)<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Those words are the lament of one who has taken His eyes off the Savior and fixed them on the roaring waves of rebellion. But look, child of God\u2014Christ is walking on the water, walking upon these very waves that would seem to sink the Barque of Peter! So\u00a0who is Lord? Who is Lord? The bankers? The scientists? The Freemasons? The Antichrist? Who is Lord?<em> Who is Lord?<\/em><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: 'Courier New', Courier, mono; font-size: small;\">&#8230;the LORD is with me, like a mighty champion: my persecutors will stumble, they will not triumph. In their failure they will be put to utter shame, to lasting, unforgettable confusion. (First reading)<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: 'Courier New', Courier, mono; font-size: small;\">For Zion\u2019s sake I will not be silent, for Jerusalem\u2019s sake I will not be quiet, until her vindication shines forth like the dawn and her victory like a burning torch. Nations shall behold your vindication&#8230; (Isaiah 62:1-2)<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>It is coming, brothers and sisters, the<a href=\"https:\/\/www.markmallett.com\/blog\/the-vindication-of-wisdom\/\"><em> Vindication of Wisdom<\/em><\/a> is coming. The winds of the wicked may blow for a time, but Wisdom is the great calmer of storms.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: 'Courier New', Courier, mono; font-size: small;\">Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God.
