POPE FRANCIS <\/strong>and bishops from around the world have gathered this week to face what is arguably the gravest trial in the history of the Catholic Church. It is not just a sexual abuse crisis of those entrusted with Christ’s flock; it is a crisis of faith. <\/em>For men entrusted with the Gospel ought not only preach it, but above all\u00a0live<\/em> it.\u00a0When they\u2014or we\u2014don’t, then we fall from grace like stars from the firmament<\/em>.<\/p>\n

St. John Paul II, Benedict XVI, and St. Paul VI all felt that we are presently living the twelfth chapter of Revelation like no other generation, and I submit, in a startling way…<\/p>\n

THE TIDE OF IMPURITY<\/p>\n

A great sign appeared in the sky, a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of twelve stars. She was with child and wailed aloud in pain as she labored to give birth. Then another sign appeared in the sky; it was a huge red dragon… the dragon stood before the woman about to give birth, to devour her child when she gave birth. (Rev 12:1-5)<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

At World Youth Day in 1993, John Paul II stated:<\/p>\n

This marvelous world \u2013 so loved by the Father that he sent his only Son for its salvation <\/strong>(Cf. Io<\/i> 3,17) \u2013 is the theater of a never-ending battle being waged for our dignity and identity as free, spiritual beings<\/i>. This struggle parallels the apocalyptic combat described in [Rev 12]. Death battles against Life: a “culture of death” seeks to impose itself on our desire to live, and live to the full<\/i>.\u00a0<\/strong>\u2014POPE ST. Sexual immorality and the “culture of death” are bedmates, for it is fornication, licentiousness and adultery that ultimately lead to the use of birth control, abortion, and sexual aberrations. This flood of impurity, exploitation and death, increasingly being imposed as the only acceptable standard in our culture,[1]<\/sup><\/a>cf. Not My Canada, Mr. Trudeau<\/em><\/a><\/span><\/span>
