I WOKE<\/strong> up this morning with these words impressed on my mind: This is a Test. <\/em>And then, something like this followed…<\/p>\n <\/p>\n THE TEST<\/p>\n If you have lost your peace over anything happening in the Church today, you are failing the test…<\/p>\n O what peace we often forfeit, <\/em>O what needless pain we bear, <\/em>all because we do not carry, <\/em>everything to God in prayer. <\/em><\/strong>\u2014 Joseph Scriven from the Hymn “What a Friend We Have in Jesus”<\/span> Have no anxiety at all, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, make your requests known to God. (Philippians 4:6)<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n If you say that Pope Francis is destroying the Church, you are failing the test…<\/p>\n I say to you, you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church… (Matt 16:18)<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n If you say that the Amazonian Synod will destroy the Church, you are failing the test…<\/p>\n I will build my church, and the gates of the netherworld shall not prevail against it. (Matt 16:18)<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n If you say that Pope Francis is a closet Communist, Freemason, or nefarious implant and is intentionally trying to ruin the Church, you are failing the test…<\/p>\n He becomes guilty: of rash judgment<\/i> who, even tacitly, assumes as true, without sufficient foundation, the moral fault of a neighbor… of calumny <\/i>who, by remarks contrary to the truth, harms the reputation of others and gives occasion for false judgments concerning them.<\/span><\/strong><\/span> \u2014Catechism of the Catholic Church, <\/em>n. 2477<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n If you declare that Pope Francis is a heretic, you are failing the test…<\/p>\n No. This Pope is orthodox, that is, doctrinally sound in the Catholic sense. Naturally, if we disagree with the Holy Father, we do so with the deepest respect and humility, conscious that we may need to be corrected.
