I have questioned my calling, my direction, my purpose. Only in the stillness before the Blessed Sacrament did the Lord finally answer my appeals: <em>He is not done with me yet.<\/em> <!--more--><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h5>The Time of Warning<\/h5>\n<p>On the one hand, I can identify with much of Glenn Beck&#8217;s recent powerful speech and the burning need to give people <em>hope.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p><iframe title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/RAbQ2ig8zBA\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>All around us, we see a generation that has been traumatized by the psychological warfare that has been waged upon it, especially the past three years through lies that are daily being exposed.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-49313 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.markmallett.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/CBC-Lied.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"590\" height=\"442\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.markmallett.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/CBC-Lied.jpg 1600w, https:\/\/www.markmallett.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/CBC-Lied-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.markmallett.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/CBC-Lied-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.markmallett.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/CBC-Lied-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.markmallett.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/CBC-Lied-1536x1152.jpg 1536w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 590px) 100vw, 590px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>People need hope. They need assurance. But not a false hope that we can simply sit back and wait until God fixes it all. Our authentic hope is not that the Lord is going to take away the Storm but that He will be right beside us <em>as we pass through it.\u00a0 \u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p>In a message to American seer Jennifer, Our Lord says that this is now a time of&#8230;<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: 'trebuchet ms', geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;\"><strong><em>&#8230;great urgency, for the world has entered into the time of warning. I do not speak of the time of My visitation, rather this is a time of warning that will usher in the period when all of humanity will be brought to its knees to see their souls as I see them. My child, those who fail to recognize this time \u2014 when evil is seeking to elevate itself, yet is being simultaneously pierced by the light of truth \u2014 will find themselves like the foolish virgins. I tell My children with great urgency that it is time to repent. It is time to recognize the hour you are living in.<\/em><\/strong> \u2014July 5, 2023; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.countdowntothekingdom.com\/jennifer-the-world-has-entered-the-time-of-warning\/\">countdowntothekingdom.com<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>As a watchman, I too have questioned whether there is any further need for this role, especially as the subjects that I have addressed for decades \u2014 and was considered a lunatic for raising \u2014 are now in mainstream Catholic media.\u00a0But every time I think I know what &#8220;time it is,&#8221; the Lord says, <em>&#8220;I&#8217;m not done yet&#8230;&#8221;\u00a0<\/em>So, I have gathered my wits once more, to remain at this post for as long as He wants, especially as His Church as we know it disintegrates&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>THE FALSE CHURCH<\/p>\n<p>Disillusionment. Discouragement. Those are real temptations in the midst of the present corruption and rapid social decay as the voice of the Magisterium is almost non-existent. Where are the shepherds to lead and guard their flocks from the rapacious wolves? Where is the calm and clear proclamation of truth to pierce the clouds of confusion? Why is the Church virtually silent as our youth are being overrun by a veritable <a href=\"https:\/\/www.markmallett.com\/blog\/persecution-spiritual-tsunami\/\">tsunami<\/a> of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.markmallett.com\/blog\/the-diabolical-disorientation\/\">sexual perversion<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.markmallett.com\/blog\/the-death-of-woman\/\">experimentation<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.markmallett.com\/blog\/woke-vs-awake\/\">ideology<\/a>? And why are &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.markmallett.com\/blog\/open-letter-to-the-catholic-bishops\/\">vaccines<\/a>&#8221; and &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.markmallett.com\/blog\/the-second-act\/\">global warming<\/a>&#8221; suddenly more critical to the hierarchy than the eternal destination of the tens of thousands of souls who pass from this world each day?<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s painful to say, but a great portion of our clergy have all but fled &#8220;the garden&#8221; like the Apostles of old.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft  wp-image-49315\" style=\"margin: 2px 5px 2px 5px;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.markmallett.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/Confused-woman.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"290\" height=\"324\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.markmallett.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/Confused-woman.jpg 1192w, https:\/\/www.markmallett.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/Confused-woman-268x300.jpg 268w, https:\/\/www.markmallett.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/Confused-woman-916x1024.jpg 916w, https:\/\/www.markmallett.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/Confused-woman-768x859.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 290px) 100vw, 290px\" \/>What can we say when a future Cardinal and head of World Youth Day 2023 in Lisbon declares:<\/p>\n<div class=\"row\">\n<div class=\"col post-content content\">\n<blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt; font-family: 'trebuchet ms', geneva, sans-serif;\"><strong>We don\u2019t want to convert the young people to Christ or to the Catholic Church or anything like that at all. We want it to be normal for a young Catholic Christian to say and bear witness to who he is or for a young Muslim, Jew, or of another religion to also have no problem saying who he is and bearing witness to it, and for a young person who has no religion to feel welcome and to perhaps not feel strange for thinking in a different way.<\/strong> \u2014Bishop Am\u00e9rico Aguiar, July 10, 2023;\u00a0<em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thecatholictelegraph.com\/future-portuguese-cardinal-on-wyd-we-dont-want-to-convert-the-young-people-to-christ\/92247\">The Catholic Telegraph<\/a><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>From where I stand as an educated Catholic, this is not accompaniment but <em>compromise<\/em>; not evangelism but <em>indifferentism<\/em>; not sound philosophy but <em>sophistry<\/em>. It is a near-complete abandonment of the Great Commission. Contrast Aguiar&#8217;s words to those of St. Paul VI:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt; font-family: 'trebuchet ms', geneva, sans-serif;\"><strong>The Church respects and esteems these non Christian religions because they are the living expression of the soul of vast groups of people. They carry within them the echo of thousands of years of searching for God, a quest which is incomplete but often made with great sincerity and righteousness of heart. They possess an impressive\u00a0<img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright  wp-image-36065\" src=\"https:\/\/www.markmallett.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/ppvi-1024x998.jpg\" sizes=\"(max-width: 285px) 100vw, 285px\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.markmallett.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/ppvi.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.markmallett.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/ppvi-300x292.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.markmallett.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/ppvi-768x749.jpg 768w\" alt=\"\" width=\"285\" height=\"278\" \/><\/strong><strong>patrimony of deeply religious texts. They have taught generations of people how to pray. They are all impregnated with innumerable \u201cseeds of the Word\u201d and can constitute a true \u201cpreparation for the Gospel,\u201d\u2026 [But] neither respect and esteem for these religions nor the complexity of the questions raised is an invitation to the Church to withhold from these non-Christians the proclamation of Jesus Christ. On the contrary the Church holds that these multitudes have the right to know the riches of the mystery of Christ\u2014riches in which we believe that the whole of humanity can find, in unsuspected fullness, everything that it is gropingly searching for concerning God, man and his destiny, life and death, and truth.<\/strong>\u00a0\u2014POPE ST. PAUL VI,\u00a0<em>Evangelii Nuntiandi,\u00a0<\/em>n. 53;\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/w2.vatican.va\/content\/paul-vi\/en\/apost_exhortations\/documents\/hf_p-vi_exh_19751208_evangelii-nuntiandi.html\">vatican.va<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>And then there is the appointment of the very controversial Archbishop Victor Manuel Fern\u00e1ndez to the highest doctrinal office in the Church:\u00a0 Prefect for the Dicastery of the Doctrine of the Faith. As recent as July 5, 2023, he continued to posit the possibility of &#8220;blessing&#8221; homosexual relationships \u2014 something that very same office not long ago clearly condemned:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt; font-family: 'trebuchet ms', geneva, sans-serif;\"><strong>Moral conscience requires that, in every occasion, Christians give witness to the whole moral truth, which is contradicted both by approval of homosexual acts and unjust discrimination against homosexual persons [&#8230;and] avoid exposing young people to erroneous ideas about sexuality and marriage that would deprive them of their necessary defences and contribute to the spread of the phenomenon. <\/strong><strong class=\"\">\u2014<\/strong><a class=\"\" href=\"http:\/\/www.vatican.va\/roman_curia\/congregations\/cfaith\/documents\/rc_con_cfaith_doc_20030731_homosexual-unions_en.html\"><em>Considerations Regarding Proposals to Give Legal Recognition to Unions Between Homosexual Persons<\/em>; n. 5<\/a>; June 3, 2003<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Fern\u00e1ndez also said in an interview that although the Church\u2019s doctrine cannot be altered, \u201cour<img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright  wp-image-49314\" style=\"margin: 1px 2px 1px 2px;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.markmallett.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/Confused-man.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"263\" height=\"263\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.markmallett.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/Confused-man.jpg 1200w, https:\/\/www.markmallett.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/Confused-man-300x300.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.markmallett.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/Confused-man-1024x1024.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.markmallett.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/Confused-man-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/www.markmallett.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/Confused-man-768x768.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 263px) 100vw, 263px\" \/> understanding\u201d of doctrine can change, \u201cand that in fact it has changed and will continue to change.\u201d<span class=\"footnote_referrer\"><a role=\"button\" tabindex=\"0\" onclick=\"footnote_moveToReference_49311_1('footnote_plugin_reference_49311_1_1');\" onkeypress=\"footnote_moveToReference_49311_1('footnote_plugin_reference_49311_1_1');\" ><sup id=\"footnote_plugin_tooltip_49311_1_1\" class=\"footnote_plugin_tooltip_text\">[1]<\/sup><\/a><span id=\"footnote_plugin_tooltip_text_49311_1_1\" class=\"footnote_tooltip\"><em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncregister.com\/news\/cardinal-mueller-confirms-vatican-doctrinal-office-had-file-warning-about-archbishop-fernandez\">National Catholic Register<\/a>, <\/em>July 6, 2023<\/span><\/span><script type=\"text\/javascript\"> jQuery('#footnote_plugin_tooltip_49311_1_1').tooltip({ tip: '#footnote_plugin_tooltip_text_49311_1_1', tipClass: 'footnote_tooltip', effect: 'fade', predelay: 0, fadeInSpeed: 200, delay: 400, fadeOutSpeed: 200, position: 'top right', relative: true, offset: [10, 10], });<\/script>\u00a0Contrast that to Pope St. Pius X:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt; font-family: 'trebuchet ms', geneva, sans-serif;\"><b>I entirely reject the heretical misrepresentation that dogmas evolve and change from one meaning to another different from the one which the Church held previously.<\/b>\u00a0\u2014September 1st, 1910;\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.papalencyclicals.net\/Pius10\/p10moath.htm\">papalencyclicals.net<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>&#8220;Many have expressed their concerns to me,&#8221; said Cardinal Raymond Burke some time ago, that &#8220;at this very critical moment, there is a strong sense that the church is like a ship without a rudder&#8230; They are feeling a bit seasick because they feel the Church\u2019s ship has lost its way.&#8221; <span class=\"footnote_referrer\"><a role=\"button\" tabindex=\"0\" onclick=\"footnote_moveToReference_49311_1('footnote_plugin_reference_49311_1_2');\" onkeypress=\"footnote_moveToReference_49311_1('footnote_plugin_reference_49311_1_2');\" ><sup id=\"footnote_plugin_tooltip_49311_1_2\" class=\"footnote_plugin_tooltip_text\">[2]<\/sup><\/a><span id=\"footnote_plugin_tooltip_text_49311_1_2\" class=\"footnote_tooltip\"><em><a href=\"https:\/\/religionnews.com\/2014\/10\/31\/cardinal-catholic-church-pope-francis-ship-without-rudder\/\">Religious News Service<\/a><\/em>, October 31, 2014<\/span><\/span><script type=\"text\/javascript\"> jQuery('#footnote_plugin_tooltip_49311_1_2').tooltip({ tip: '#footnote_plugin_tooltip_text_49311_1_2', tipClass: 'footnote_tooltip', effect: 'fade', predelay: 0, fadeInSpeed: 200, delay: 400, fadeOutSpeed: 200, position: 'top right', relative: true, offset: [10, 10], });<\/script> Heaven appears to agree. In a recent appeal through Italian seer, Angela, Our Lady said:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt; font-family: 'trebuchet ms', geneva, sans-serif;\"><em><strong>Tonight I am again here to ask you for prayer \u2014 prayer for my beloved Church, prayer for this world, increasingly gripped and enveloped by the forces of evil&#8230; <\/strong><\/em><em><strong>pray that the true Magisterium of the Church would not be lost. <\/strong><\/em>\u2014July 8, 2023; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.countdowntothekingdom.com\/angela-judgment-is-not-up-to-you\/\">countdowntothekingdom.com<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The Church will never be lost. But the truth <em>can<\/em> be eclipsed, just as the Son of God, who declared &#8220;I am the truth&#8221;, was crucified.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt; font-family: 'trebuchet ms', geneva, sans-serif;\"><strong>What strikes me, when I think of the Catholic world, is that within Catholicism, there seems sometimes to pre-dominate a non-Catholic way of thinking, and it can happen that tomorrow this non-Catholic thought within Catholicism, will tomorrow become the stronger. But it will never represent the thought of the Church. It is necessary that\u00a0a small flock subsist, no matter how small it might be.<\/strong>\u00a0\u2014POPE PAUL VI,\u00a0<em>The Secret Paul VI<\/em>, Jean Guitton, p. 152-153, Reference (7), p. ix.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>And yet, Our Lady reminds us regarding our clergy:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt; font-family: 'trebuchet ms', geneva, sans-serif;\"><em><strong>&#8230;pray and do not fall into the subtle temptations of judgment and condemnation. Judgment is not up to you but to God. \u2014July 8, 2023; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.countdowntothekingdom.com\/angela-judgment-is-not-up-to-you\/\">countdowntothekingdom.com<\/a><\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h5>The Last Standing<\/h5>\n<p>But neither should we be <a href=\"https:\/\/www.markmallett.com\/blog\/ashamed-of-jesus\/\">cowards and silent<\/a> when our shepherds cause public scandal. We have a duty, as baptized disciples, to proclaim and defend the truth. All of us. <em>All of us! <\/em><\/p>\n<p>At this point, dear brothers and sisters, the few of you who are still faithful to Sacred Tradition, still listening to Our Mother, still courageously defending the truth, are <em>the last standing<\/em>. You are, in large part, the <em>laity,\u00a0<\/em>led by a handful of courageous and faithful priests who are now but a remnant. But it was the bishops and the pope himself who prophesied this very hour&#8230;\u00a0<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt; font-family: 'trebuchet ms', geneva, sans-serif;\"><strong>With the Council,\u00a0<em>the hour of the laity<\/em>\u00a0truly struck, and many lay faithful, men and women, more clearly understood their Christian vocation, which by its very nature is a vocation to the apostolate\u2026<\/strong> \u2014POPE SAINTJOHN PAUL II,<em>\u00a0Jubilee of the Apostolate of the Laity<\/em>, n. 3; cf. <em>Lumen gentium<\/em>, n. 31<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt; font-family: 'trebuchet ms', geneva, sans-serif;\"><strong>Our era could in some ways be called the era of the laity. Therefore be open to lay people\u2019s contribution. <\/strong>\u2014POPE SAINT JOHN PAUL II, <em>To the Oblates of St. Joseph,\u00a0<\/em>February 17th, 2000<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt; font-family: 'trebuchet ms', geneva, sans-serif;\"><strong>Following Christ demands the courage of radical choices, which often means going against the stream. \u201cWe are Christ!\u201d, St Augustine exclaimed.
