An industrial wind farm, proposed to go up behind our small farm, has brought this pseudo-scientific war to our doorstep. I have been forced to lead my community against the environmental destruction this would leave in its wake.<span class=\"footnote_referrer\"><a role=\"button\" tabindex=\"0\" onclick=\"footnote_moveToReference_49331_1('footnote_plugin_reference_49331_1_1');\" onkeypress=\"footnote_moveToReference_49331_1('footnote_plugin_reference_49331_1_1');\" ><sup id=\"footnote_plugin_tooltip_49331_1_1\" class=\"footnote_plugin_tooltip_text\">[1]<\/sup><\/a><span id=\"footnote_plugin_tooltip_text_49331_1_1\" class=\"footnote_tooltip\">cf. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.windconcerns.com\/\">windconcerns.com<\/a><\/span><\/span><script type=\"text\/javascript\"> jQuery('#footnote_plugin_tooltip_49331_1_1').tooltip({ tip: '#footnote_plugin_tooltip_text_49331_1_1', tipClass: 'footnote_tooltip', effect: 'fade', predelay: 0, fadeInSpeed: 200, delay: 400, fadeOutSpeed: 200, position: 'top right', relative: true, offset: [10, 10], });<\/script> In my <a href=\"https:\/\/www.windconcerns.com\/\">research<\/a>, not only has this underscored the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.windconcerns.com\/hot-air-behind-the-wind\/\">fraudulent claims<\/a> of global warming fearmongers but also the utterly insane environmental policies being forced on the populace.<\/p>\n<p>Start with the goal to completely <a href=\"https:\/\/www.euractiv.com\/section\/energy\/interview\/canadian-minister-fossil-fuels-must-be-phased-out-no-later-than-2050\/\">eliminate fossil fuels by 2050<\/a>, or sooner. Energy grids across the world are already straining as countries eliminate coal or nuclear power plants. Imagine what would happen if everyone<img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-49334 alignright\" style=\"margin: 1px 2px 1px 2px;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.markmallett.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/Wind-Turb-light.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"319\" height=\"503\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.markmallett.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/Wind-Turb-light.jpg 625w, https:\/\/www.markmallett.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/Wind-Turb-light-190x300.jpg 190w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 319px) 100vw, 319px\" \/> started driving electric vehicles that need daily recharging, and heating their homes with electricity alone. Power grids would utterly collapse resulting in catastrophic consequences. Fossil fuels, and <a href=\"https:\/\/rmcfi.com\/\">ever-newer technology<\/a> to burn them cleanly, remain a cheap source of energy. As the Premier of Alberta, Canada said recently.\u00a0<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt; font-family: 'trebuchet ms', geneva, sans-serif;\"><strong>This is what happens when ideology runs the power grid.<\/strong> \u2014cf. Premier Danielle Smith, <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.windconcerns.com\/what-happens-when-ideology-runs-the-power-grid\/\">What Happens When Ideology Runs Runs the Power Grid<\/a><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The co-founder of Greenpeace, who left the organization after it became radicalized, warned:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\"><span style=\"font-size: 10pt; font-family: 'trebuchet ms', geneva, sans-serif;\"><strong>The alarmism is driving us through scare tactics to adopt energy policies that are going to create a huge amount of energy poverty among the poor people. It\u2019s not good for people and it\u2019s not good for the environment\u2026 In a warmer world we can produce more food.<\/strong>\u2014Dr. Patrick Moore, Ph.D.,\u00a0<em>Fox Business News\u00a0with Stewart Varney<\/em>, January 2011;\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.forbes.com\/sites\/larrybell\/2013\/01\/22\/the-u-n-s-global-warming-war-on-capitalism-an-important-history-lesson-2\/#60ac4f1329be\">Forbes.com<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h5>Communism \u2014 with a Green Hat<\/h5>\n<p>So it&#8217;s deeply troubling to hear the head of the Roman Catholic Church become one of the leading voices in the world for an increasingly destructive agenda. As I warned eight years ago in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.markmallett.com\/blog\/climate-change-and-the-great-delusion\/\"><em>Climate Change and the Great Delusion<\/em><\/a>, the founding fathers of present-day &#8220;global warming&#8221; were no less than former Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev and Canadian environmentalist Maurice Strong (photo below), both open and vocal communists who have since passed away. Gorbachev predicted:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt; font-family: 'trebuchet ms', geneva, sans-serif;\"><strong>The threat of environmental crisis will be the international disaster key to unlock the New World Order.<\/strong> \u2014 from \u2018A Special Report: The Wildlands Project Unleashes Its War On Mankind\u2019, by Marilyn Brannan, Associate Editor, <em>Monetary &amp; Economic Review<\/em>, 1996, p.5\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Strong pushed for radical tenets insinuated in the fine details of Agenda 21, which was signed on to by 178 member nations. The agenda promoted the abolition of \u201cnational sovereignty\u201d and the dissolution of property rights.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt; font-family: 'trebuchet ms', geneva, sans-serif;\">Agenda 21:\u00a0<strong>\u201cLand\u2026 cannot be treated as an ordinary asset, controlled by individuals and subject to the pressures and inefficiencies of the market. Private land ownership is also a principal instrument of accumulation and concentration of wealth and therefore contributes to social injustice; if unchecked, it may become a major obstacle in the planning and implementation of development schemes.\u201d<\/strong> \u2014\u00a0 &#8220;Alabama Bans U.N. So it&#8217;s no surprise that a member of the UN\u2019s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change stated that global warming isn&#8217;t about saving the planet but a programme of dismantling the capitalist system:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt; font-family: 'trebuchet ms', geneva, sans-serif;\"><strong>&#8230;one must say clearly that we redistribute <em>de facto<\/em> the world\u2019s wealth by climate policy. Obviously, the owners of coal and oil will not be enthusiastic about this. One has to free oneself from the illusion that international climate policy is environmental policy. This has almost nothing to do with environmental policy anymore\u2026<\/strong> \u2014Ottmar Edenhofer, IPCC, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailysignal.com\/2010\/11\/19\/climate-talks-or-wealth-redistribution-talks\/\">dailysignal.com<\/a>, November 19th, 2011<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>At least he&#8217;s honest, as was Canada&#8217;s former Minister of the Environment:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\"><span style=\"font-size: 10pt; font-family: 'trebuchet ms', geneva, sans-serif;\"><strong>No matter if the science of global warming is all phony\u2026 climate change [provides] the greatest opportunity to bring about justice and equality in the world. <\/strong>\u2014 Former Canadian Minister of the Environment, Christine Stewart; quoted by Terence Corcoran, \u201cGlobal Warming: The Real Agenda,\u201d <em>Financial Post<\/em>, December 26th, 1998; from the\u00a0<em>Calgary Herald<\/em>, December, 14, 1998<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Justice and equality \u2014 the pallid face of Marxism. But these are also themes that find a certain crossover in the teachings of the Church. And therein lies the problem \u2014 and the deception.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h5>Church On a Precipice<\/h5>\n<p>Communism, or rather,\u00a0<em>community-ism\u00a0<\/em>is a socio-political counterfeit of the early Church. Consider this:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><span style=\"font-size: 10pt; font-family: 'trebuchet ms', geneva, sans-serif;\">All who believed were together and had all things in common; they would sell their property and possessions and divide them among all according to each one\u2019s need. (Acts 2:44-45)<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Isn\u2019t this precisely what socialist\/communist ideologues propose today through greater taxation and redistribution?\u00a0 The difference is this: what the early Church accomplished was based on <em>freedom<\/em> and <em>charity<\/em>\u2014not <em>force<\/em> and <em>control<\/em>. That is the diabolical difference.<\/p>\n<p>In a message for the World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation in September 2023, Pope Francis will say in a prepared speech that we &#8220;must listen to science and institute a rapid and equitable transition to end the era of fossil fuel. According to the commitments undertaken in the Paris Agreement to restrain global warming, it is absurd to permit the continued exploration and expansion of fossil fuel infrastructures.&#8221;<span class=\"footnote_referrer\"><a role=\"button\" tabindex=\"0\" onclick=\"footnote_moveToReference_49331_1('footnote_plugin_reference_49331_1_8');\" onkeypress=\"footnote_moveToReference_49331_1('footnote_plugin_reference_49331_1_8');\" ><sup id=\"footnote_plugin_tooltip_49331_1_8\" class=\"footnote_plugin_tooltip_text\">[8]<\/sup><\/a><span id=\"footnote_plugin_tooltip_text_49331_1_8\" class=\"footnote_tooltip\">cf. <a href=\"https:\/\/press.vatican.va\/content\/salastampa\/en\/bollettino\/pubblico\/2023\/05\/25\/230525a.html\">press.vatican.va<\/a><\/span><\/span><script type=\"text\/javascript\"> jQuery('#footnote_plugin_tooltip_49331_1_8').tooltip({ tip: '#footnote_plugin_tooltip_text_49331_1_8', tipClass: 'footnote_tooltip', effect: 'fade', predelay: 0, fadeInSpeed: 200, delay: 400, fadeOutSpeed: 200, position: 'top right', relative: true, offset: [10, 10], });<\/script><\/p>\n<p>The problem is that the &#8220;science&#8221; the Pope is listening to is wrought with <em>fraud<\/em>. A recent study at The Heartland Institute shows that <a href=\"https:\/\/heartland.org\/opinion\/us-surface-station-network-is-fatally-flawed-heartland-report-shows\/\">96% of climate data used to justify this climate push is flawed<\/a> (again, it was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/pmc\/articles\/PMC7447267\/\">flawed computer modeling<\/a> that also drove COVID-19 pandemic hysteria). Climatologist Dr. Judith Curry agrees that the global warming narrative is driven by <a href=\"https:\/\/judithcurry.com\/2021\/07\/11\/5-minutes\/\">flawed computer models<\/a>\u00a0and that the real goal ought to be<img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-49336\" src=\"https:\/\/www.markmallett.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/Francisgreen2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"331\" height=\"588\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.markmallett.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/Francisgreen2.jpg 751w, https:\/\/www.markmallett.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/Francisgreen2-169x300.jpg 169w, https:\/\/www.markmallett.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/Francisgreen2-577x1024.jpg 577w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 331px) 100vw, 331px\" \/> minimizing air and water pollution, not carbon dioxide. Tom Harris, Executive Director of the International Climate Science Coalition, was a climate alarmist who has now\u00a0<em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.lifesitenews.com\/news\/scam-former-climate-change-alarmist-says-agenda-has-no-foundation\/\">reversed his position<\/a><\/em>\u00a0due to flawed \u201cmodels that don\u2019t work,\u201d and is now calling the whole narrative a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/rairfoundation.com\/deadly-globalist-scam-global-warming-to-alternative-energy-sources-its-all-one-big-hoax-exclusive-interview\/\">hoax<\/a>. Remember \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/rairfoundation.com\/deadly-globalist-scam-global-warming-to-alternative-energy-sources-its-all-one-big-hoax-exclusive-interview\/\">climategate<\/a>\u201d when scientists were caught deliberately altering statistics and ignoring satellite data that showed no warming? Furthermore, carbon taxes on home heating and automotive fuel, as well as the rising cost of electricity to pay for renewable energy, are beginning to seriously punish the middle class and the poor. The windmills, solar panels and backup batteries have none of these qualities. This falsehood is pushed by a powerful lobby which Bjorn Lomborg has called a climate industrial complex, comprising some scientists, most media, industrialists, and legislators. It has somehow managed to convince many that CO2 in the atmosphere, a gas necessary for life on earth, one which we exhale with every breath, is an environmental poison. Multiple scientific theories and measurements show that there is no climate crisis. Radiation forcing calculations by both skeptics and believers show that the carbon dioxide radiation forcing is about 0.3% of the incident radiation, far less than other effects on climate. Over the period of human civilization, the temperature has oscillated between quite a few warm and cold periods, with many of the warm periods being warmer than today.
