THE<\/strong> news shot across the globe like a missile: “Pope Francis approves allowing Catholic priests to bless same-sex couples”<\/strong> (ABC News<\/a>). Reuters<\/a> declared: “Vatican approves blessings for same-sex couples in landmark ruling.<\/strong>” For once, the headlines weren’t twisting the truth, even though there’s more to the story… <\/p>\n

The Declaration<\/h5>\n

A “Declaration<\/a>” released by the Vatican confirms and promotes the idea that couples in “irregular” situations may come for a blessing from a priest (without it being confused with the blessing proper to sacramental marriage).
