THERE<\/strong> is a mysterious passage in the Gospel of John where Jesus explains that some things are too difficult to be revealed yet to the Apostles.<\/p>\n

I have yet many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. When the Spirit of truth comes, He will guide you into all the truth… he will declare to you the things that are to come.<\/strong> (John 16:12-13)<\/span><\/p>\n

With the passing away of the last Apostle, we know that the public revelation of Jesus ceased. And yet, the Spirit continues revealing and unfolding not only the depths of the “deposit of faith<\/a>” but also speaking prophetically to the Church.[1]<\/sup><\/a>“\u2026no new public revelation is to be expected before the glorious manifestation of our Lord Jesus Christ. Yet even if Revelation is already complete, it has not been made completely explicit; it remains for Christian faith gradually to grasp its full significance over the course of the centuries.” \u2014Catechism of the Catholic Church<\/em>, n. 67<\/span><\/span>
