This word was announced to the children of the apparition site in Garabandal, Spain in 1961 as a follow-up of sorts to the warning at Fatima, Portugal in 1917. Our Lady had warned then that, if Russia was not consecrated to her Immaculate Heart, and the world did not respond with penance, that Russia would “spread her errors”. What errors? The philosophies of socialism, Marxism, and atheism, which found their practical expression in Communism. <\/em>The Blessed Mother’s message was crystal clear:<\/p>\n

If my requests are heeded, Russia will be converted, and there will be peace; if not, she will spread her errors throughout the world, causing wars and persecutions of the Church.
