JOHN PAUL II,<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: trebuchet ms, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;\"><em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.vatican.va\/content\/john-paul-ii\/en\/apost_letters\/2001\/documents\/hf_jp-ii_apl_20010106_novo-millennio-ineunte.html\">Novo Millennio Inuente<\/a>, <\/em>n. 29<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><div id=\"buzzsprout-player-16480222\"><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t <script src=\"https:\/\/www.buzzsprout.com\/1172402\/16480222.js?container_id=buzzsprout-player-16480222&amp;player=small\" type=\"text\/javascript\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<span class=\"mks_dropcap_letter\" style=\"font-size: 70px; color: #5b5b5b; \">T<\/span>here is a simple but profound &#8220;programme&#8221; that God is bringing to fulfillment in <em>these<\/em> times. It is to prepare for Himself a spotless Bride; a remnant that is holy, that has broken with sin, that embodies the restoration of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.markmallett.com\/blog\/the-gift\/\">Divine Will<\/a> that Adam forfeited at the beginning of time.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;s it. That, in a sense, is your mission and mine: to uproot every sin in our lives and every unholy attachment. Every individual who is saved by Christ <em>de facto <\/em>enters this programme; they will be purified either on earth or, more painfully, in purgatory. But <em>The Programme<\/em> I am referring to here is within the boundaries of time and history <em>before<\/em> the end of the world, what we call the &#8220;last times&#8221;&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h5>Scriptural and Magisterial<\/h5>\n<p>Sacred Scripture is clear on this. The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.markmallett.com\/blog\/the-promised-kingdom\/\">period of tribulations<\/a> described in the Gospels and Revelation that amount to the Passion of the Church &#8220;when she will follow her Lord in his death and Resurrection&#8221;<span class=\"footnote_referrer\"><a role=\"button\" tabindex=\"0\" onclick=\"footnote_moveToReference_51723_1('footnote_plugin_reference_51723_1_1');\" onkeypress=\"footnote_moveToReference_51723_1('footnote_plugin_reference_51723_1_1');\" ><sup id=\"footnote_plugin_tooltip_51723_1_1\" class=\"footnote_plugin_tooltip_text\">[1]<\/sup><\/a><span id=\"footnote_plugin_tooltip_text_51723_1_1\" class=\"footnote_tooltip\"><em>Catechism of the Catholic Church<\/em>, 677<\/span><\/span><script type=\"text\/javascript\"> jQuery('#footnote_plugin_tooltip_51723_1_1').tooltip({ tip: '#footnote_plugin_tooltip_text_51723_1_1', tipClass: 'footnote_tooltip', effect: 'fade', predelay: 0, fadeInSpeed: 200, delay: 400, fadeOutSpeed: 200, position: 'top right', relative: true, offset: [10, 10], });<\/script> essentially separates the weeds from the <img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-34765 alignleft\" style=\"margin: 2px 5px 2px 5px;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.markmallett.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/weedswheat.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"411\" height=\"308\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.markmallett.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/weedswheat.jpg 1800w, https:\/\/www.markmallett.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/weedswheat-1536x1152.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/www.markmallett.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/weedswheat-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.markmallett.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/weedswheat-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.markmallett.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/weedswheat-1024x768.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 411px) 100vw, 411px\" \/>wheat.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt; font-family: trebuchet ms, geneva, sans-serif;\"><b>The world at the approach of a new millennium, for which the whole Church is preparing, is like a field ready for the harvest.<\/b> \u2014ST. POPE JOHN PAUL II, World Youth Day, homily, August 15th, 1993<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Thus, before Christ comes in judgment upon the Antichrist and his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.markmallett.com\/blog\/the-spectre-of-global-communism\/\">neo-communistic utopia<\/a>, St. John hears Heaven declare:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><span style=\"font-size: 10pt; font-family: trebuchet ms, geneva, sans-serif;\"><strong>\u2026His bride has made herself ready. She was allowed to wear a bright, clean linen garment.<\/strong> (Rev 19:7-8)<strong>&#8230; that He might present to himself the Church in splendor, without spot or wrinkle or any such thing, that she might be holy and without blemish.<\/strong> (Ephesians 5:27)<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Ready for what? As both the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.markmallett.com\/blog\/how-the-era-was-lost\/\">early Church Fathers<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.markmallett.com\/blog\/the-popes-and-a-dawning-new-age\/\">popes<\/a> have declared in various terms: the &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.markmallett.com\/blog\/the-promised-kingdom\/\">times of the kingdom<\/a>&#8221; or &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.markmallett.com\/blog\/the-coming-sabbath-rest\/\">sabbath rest<\/a>&#8221; or &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.markmallett.com\/blog\/the-thousand-years\/\">thousand years<\/a>&#8221; or &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.markmallett.com\/blog\/dear-holy-father-he-is-coming\/\">Era of Peace<\/a>&#8221; or the &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.markmallett.com\/blog\/the-resurrection-of-the-church\/\">Resurrection of the Church<\/a>&#8221; and even a &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.markmallett.com\/blog\/the-middle-coming\/\">middle coming<\/a>&#8221; of Christ. What is clear is that the popes, observing unanimously that &#8220;those dark times seem to have come which were foretold by St. Paul&#8221;,<span class=\"footnote_referrer\"><a role=\"button\" tabindex=\"0\" onclick=\"footnote_moveToReference_51723_1('footnote_plugin_reference_51723_1_2');\" onkeypress=\"footnote_moveToReference_51723_1('footnote_plugin_reference_51723_1_2');\" ><sup id=\"footnote_plugin_tooltip_51723_1_2\" class=\"footnote_plugin_tooltip_text\">[2]<\/sup><\/a><span id=\"footnote_plugin_tooltip_text_51723_1_2\" class=\"footnote_tooltip\">Pope Leo XIII; cf. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.markmallett.com\/blog\/why-arent-the-popes-shouting\/\"><em>Why Aren&#8217;t the Popes Shouting?<\/em><\/a><\/span><\/span><script type=\"text\/javascript\"> jQuery('#footnote_plugin_tooltip_51723_1_2').tooltip({ tip: '#footnote_plugin_tooltip_text_51723_1_2', tipClass: 'footnote_tooltip', effect: 'fade', predelay: 0, fadeInSpeed: 200, delay: 400, fadeOutSpeed: 200, position: 'top right', relative: true, offset: [10, 10], });<\/script> have been expecting not the end of all things, but the end of this era culminating in a period of profound <em>holiness. <\/em><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt; font-family: trebuchet ms, geneva, sans-serif;\"><strong>But even this night in the world shows clear signs of a dawn that will come, of a new day receiving the kiss of a new and more resplendent sun\u2026 A new resurrection of Jesus is necessary: a true resurrection, which admits no more lordship of death\u2026 In individuals, Christ must destroy the night of mortal sin with the dawn of grace regained. In families, the night of indifference and coolness must give way to the sun of love. As Jesus said to Fr. Ottavio Michelini, a priest, mystic, and member of the Papal Court of Pope St. Paul VI, Our Lord said to him:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt; font-family: trebuchet ms, geneva, sans-serif;\"><strong>\u2026it will be men themselves who will provoke the imminent conflict, and it will be I, Myself, who will destroy the forces of evil to draw good from all this; and it will be the Mother, Most Holy Mary, who will crush the head of the serpent, thus beginning a new era of peace; IT WILL BE THE ADVENT OF MY KINGDOM UPON EARTH.<\/strong> \u2014December 9, 1976<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>A kingdom without end:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt; font-family: trebuchet ms, geneva, sans-serif;\"><strong>Then the kingship and dominion and majesty of all the kingdoms under the heavens shall be given to the people of the holy ones of the Most High, Whose kingship shall be an everlasting kingship, whom all dominions shall serve and obey.<\/strong> (Dan 7:27)<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The New Testament itself testifies that the Epilogue \u2014 the last, brief outburst of Satan&#8217;s fury on the Church after the Era of Peace \u2014 is against the &#8220;camp of the saints&#8221;, that is, a <em>holy<\/em> and <em>spotless<\/em> Bride:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><span style=\"font-size: 10pt; font-family: trebuchet ms, geneva, sans-serif;\"><strong>They [Gog and Magog] invaded the breadth of the earth and surrounded the camp of the holy ones and the beloved city. But fire came down from heaven and consumed them. The Devil who had led them astray was thrown into the pool of fire and sulphur, where the beast and the false prophet were. There they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.<\/strong> (Revelation 20:9-10)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><em>Finito<\/em>. The end of time is marked not by the destruction of the Church but by the end of Satan&#8217;s long dominion over man. Left standing is the spotless Bride of Christ.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h5>The Third Renewal<\/h5>\n<p>As Jesus said to Servant of God Luisa Picarretta, every two thousand years He has renewed the earth (the Flood, the Incarnation), but now we come to the Third Renewal:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt; font-family: trebuchet ms, geneva, sans-serif;\"><strong>Now we are around the third two thousand years, and there will be a third renewal. This is the reason for the general confusion: it is nothing other than the preparation of the third renewal\u2026<\/strong> \u2014Jesus to Luisa, January 29, 1919, Volume 12<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft  wp-image-45887\" style=\"margin: 2px 5px 2px 5px;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.markmallett.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/greatstormearth.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"390\" height=\"553\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.markmallett.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/greatstormearth.jpg 941w, https:\/\/www.markmallett.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/greatstormearth-212x300.jpg 212w, https:\/\/www.markmallett.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/greatstormearth-723x1024.jpg 723w, https:\/\/www.markmallett.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/greatstormearth-768x1088.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.markmallett.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/greatstormearth-640x907.jpg 640w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 390px) 100vw, 390px\" \/>Yes, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.markmallett.com\/blog\/hell-unleashed\/\">Hell has been unleashed<\/a>, which is why we see so much confusion, strife, war, sexual immorality, division and apostasy. We may see this as a cause to despair \u2014 and it is grievous. However, it is also a means to sift and purify the Church as though by fire. As Russian Orthodox priest Fr. Seraphim Rose once said:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt; font-family: trebuchet ms, geneva, sans-serif;\"><strong>The psychological trials of dwellers in the last times will be equal to the physical trials of the martyrs. In order to face these trials, we must be living in a different world.<\/strong> \u2014<span class=\"n\">Fr Seraphim Rose, &#8220;Letters&#8221; <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Thus cries out a voice from Heaven to the Christians living in these times under the yoke of &#8220;Babylon&#8221;:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><span style=\"font-size: 10pt; font-family: trebuchet ms, geneva, sans-serif;\"><strong>Depart from her, my people, so as not to take part in her sins and receive a share in her plagues&#8230;<\/strong> (Revelation 18:4)<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h5>The Programme<\/h5>\n<p>What does this mean practically? It means that we need to repent of our <em>compromise. <\/em>We must seriously and honestly examine our hearts and reckon with ourselves and the Lord where we are <em>idolatrous<\/em>. For example, not only should we not be viewing pornography, we shouldn&#8217;t be looking lustfully at anyone, clothed or not. Not only should we not be drunkards, but we ought to be moderate in all things. Not only should we not curse, but our speech should be pure, gracious, and uplifting.<span class=\"footnote_referrer\"><a role=\"button\" tabindex=\"0\" onclick=\"footnote_moveToReference_51723_1('footnote_plugin_reference_51723_1_3');\" onkeypress=\"footnote_moveToReference_51723_1('footnote_plugin_reference_51723_1_3');\" ><sup id=\"footnote_plugin_tooltip_51723_1_3\" class=\"footnote_plugin_tooltip_text\">[3]<\/sup><\/a><span id=\"footnote_plugin_tooltip_text_51723_1_3\" class=\"footnote_tooltip\">cf. Col 4:6, 1 Thess 5:11<\/span><\/span><script type=\"text\/javascript\"> jQuery('#footnote_plugin_tooltip_51723_1_3').tooltip({ tip: '#footnote_plugin_tooltip_text_51723_1_3', tipClass: 'footnote_tooltip', effect: 'fade', predelay: 0, fadeInSpeed: 200, delay: 400, fadeOutSpeed: 200, position: 'top right', relative: true, offset: [10, 10], });<\/script> Not only should we forgive others, but even serve them&#8230; and so forth.<\/p>\n<p>What I am describing can be very hard, painful, brutal at times. It is the Way of Perfection.<span class=\"footnote_referrer\"><a role=\"button\" tabindex=\"0\" onclick=\"footnote_moveToReference_51723_1('footnote_plugin_reference_51723_1_4');\" onkeypress=\"footnote_moveToReference_51723_1('footnote_plugin_reference_51723_1_4');\" ><sup id=\"footnote_plugin_tooltip_51723_1_4\" class=\"footnote_plugin_tooltip_text\">[4]<\/sup><\/a><span id=\"footnote_plugin_tooltip_text_51723_1_4\" class=\"footnote_tooltip\"><em>Catechism of the Catholic Church<\/em>, n. 2015<\/span><\/span><script type=\"text\/javascript\"> jQuery('#footnote_plugin_tooltip_51723_1_4').tooltip({ tip: '#footnote_plugin_tooltip_text_51723_1_4', tipClass: 'footnote_tooltip', effect: 'fade', predelay: 0, fadeInSpeed: 200, delay: 400, fadeOutSpeed: 200, position: 'top right', relative: true, offset: [10, 10], });<\/script> It is a real dying to the point of essentially &#8220;living in a different world,&#8221; yet within this world.<\/p>\n<p>The little deaths Jesus is calling us to can be so excruciating that all one can do sometimes is lie down on the other side of His Cross and beg Him to give us the grace to simply hang there&#8230; to persevere. And yet, our suffering, though united to His, is not the same as He endured. The abandonment He experienced is not the same abandonment that we feel, for we are <em>never\u00a0<\/em>abandoned. In fact, Jesus enjoins us to <em>surrender everything to Him <\/em>(see the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.markmallett.com\/blog\/novena-of-abandonment\/\"><em>Novena of Abandonment<\/em><\/a>) so that He can be our strength and deliverer.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-31098 alignright\" style=\"margin: 1px 2px 1px 2px;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.markmallett.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/bridebeach.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"395\" height=\"329\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.markmallett.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/bridebeach.jpg 1600w, https:\/\/www.markmallett.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/bridebeach-1536x1278.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/www.markmallett.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/bridebeach-300x250.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.markmallett.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/bridebeach-768x639.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.markmallett.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/bridebeach-1024x852.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 395px) 100vw, 395px\" \/>Brothers and sisters, there is no easy way out of this, no way to pad this without bastardizing the Scriptures (and woe to me if I do!). If God has tolerated this generation and its hard-heartedness, that has come to an end. He is now moving to the last phase of this hour \u2014 the Refiner&#8217;s Fire. <em>A remnant will be left<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><span style=\"font-size: 10pt; font-family: trebuchet ms, geneva, sans-serif;\"><strong>But who can endure the day of his coming? Who can stand firm when he appears? For He will be like a refiner\u2019s fire, like fullers\u2019 lye.<\/strong> (Malachi 3:2)<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><span style=\"font-size: 10pt; font-family: trebuchet ms, geneva, sans-serif;\"><strong>In all the land&#8230; two thirds of them will be cut off and perish, and one third will be left. I will bring the one third through the fire; I will refine them as one refines silver, and I will test them as one tests gold.
