Wars, rumors of wars, upheaval in nature, society, and the Church dominates discussion. Add to that the more dramatic prophecies of a coming <a href=\"https:\/\/www.markmallett.com\/blog\/brace-for-impact\/\">Warning<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.markmallett.com\/blog\/the-refuge-for-our-times\/\">refuges<\/a>, and the appearance of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.countdowntothekingdom.com\/is-the-antichrist-here\/\">Antichrist<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Of course, much if not all of this is documented in the <em>Revelation to St. John<\/em> (the Apocalypse). But in the midst of the tumult, an angel<em> &#8220;wielding great authority&#8221;<\/em><span class=\"footnote_referrer\"><a role=\"button\" tabindex=\"0\" onclick=\"footnote_moveToReference_52157_1('footnote_plugin_reference_52157_1_1');\" onkeypress=\"footnote_moveToReference_52157_1('footnote_plugin_reference_52157_1_1');\" ><sup id=\"footnote_plugin_tooltip_52157_1_1\" class=\"footnote_plugin_tooltip_text\">[1]<\/sup><\/a><span id=\"footnote_plugin_tooltip_text_52157_1_1\" class=\"footnote_tooltip\">Rev 18:1<\/span><\/span><script type=\"text\/javascript\"> jQuery('#footnote_plugin_tooltip_52157_1_1').tooltip({ tip: '#footnote_plugin_tooltip_text_52157_1_1', tipClass: 'footnote_tooltip', effect: 'fade', predelay: 0, fadeInSpeed: 200, delay: 400, fadeOutSpeed: 200, position: 'top right', relative: true, offset: [10, 10], });<\/script> declares to the apostle:\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><span style=\"font-size: 10pt; font-family: 'trebuchet ms', geneva, sans-serif;\"><strong>The testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.<\/strong>\u00a0(Rev 19:20)<\/span><\/p>\n<p>This is the very heart of all authentic prophecy: the <em>Word of Jesus<\/em>, who is the &#8220;Word made flesh.&#8221;<span class=\"footnote_referrer\"><a role=\"button\" tabindex=\"0\" onclick=\"footnote_moveToReference_52157_1('footnote_plugin_reference_52157_1_2');\" onkeypress=\"footnote_moveToReference_52157_1('footnote_plugin_reference_52157_1_2');\" ><sup id=\"footnote_plugin_tooltip_52157_1_2\" class=\"footnote_plugin_tooltip_text\">[2]<\/sup><\/a><span id=\"footnote_plugin_tooltip_text_52157_1_2\" class=\"footnote_tooltip\">cf. John 1:14<\/span><\/span><script type=\"text\/javascript\"> jQuery('#footnote_plugin_tooltip_52157_1_2').tooltip({ tip: '#footnote_plugin_tooltip_text_52157_1_2', tipClass: 'footnote_tooltip', effect: 'fade', predelay: 0, fadeInSpeed: 200, delay: 400, fadeOutSpeed: 200, position: 'top right', relative: true, offset: [10, 10], });<\/script> Every apparition, every private revelation, every word of knowledge and prediction has as its locus <em>Jesus Christ<\/em> \u2014 His mission, life, death, and resurrection. Everything should return to that; everything should bring us back to the central invitation of the Gospel found in Jesus&#8217; own first public words&#8230;<!--more--><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><span style=\"font-size: 10pt; font-family: 'trebuchet ms', geneva, sans-serif;\"><strong>The time is fulfilled, and the Kingdom of God is at hand; repent, and believe in the Gospel.<\/strong> (Mark 1:15 )<\/span><\/p>\n<p>As such, this becomes the mission and proclamation of the Church as well:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt; font-family: 'trebuchet ms', geneva, sans-serif;\"><strong>Evangelizing is in fact the grace and vocation proper to the Church, her deepest identity. <em>She exists in order to evangelize<\/em>, that is to say, in order to preach and teach, to be the channel of the gift of grace, to reconcile sinners with God, and to perpetuate Christ&#8217;s sacrifice in the Mass, which is the memorial of His death and glorious resurrection.<\/strong> \u2014POPE ST. PAUL VI,\u00a0<em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.vatican.va\/content\/paul-vi\/en\/apost_exhortations\/documents\/hf_p-vi_exh_19751208_evangelii-nuntiandi.html\">Evangelii Nuntiandi<\/a>, n. 14<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>All our apologetics, our theology, our devotions, including the Liturgy, are intended to bring us into an encounter with Jesus and His word. Thus, said Cardinal Ratzinger:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt; font-family: 'trebuchet ms', geneva, sans-serif;\"><strong>&#8230;prophecy in the biblical sense does not mean to predict the future but to explain the will of God for the present, and therefore show the right path to take for the future&#8230; the focal point of Christian &#8220;prophecy&#8221; itself: the centre is found where the vision becomes a summons and a guide to the will of God.<\/strong>\u2014Cardinal Ratzinger (POPE BENEDICT XVI), \u201cMessage of Fatima\u201d, Theological Commentary,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/212.77.1.247\/roman_curia\/congregations\/cfaith\/documents\/rc_con_cfaith_doc_20000626_message-fatima_en.html\">www.vatican.va<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>At Mass this morning, shortly after the first Gospel began, I experienced a profound encounter of God&#8217;s presence. I sensed Heaven asking me to dedicate this Passion Week as &#8220;Jesus Week,&#8221; focusing entirely on Jesus \u2014 who He is, His mission, His purpose, His divine action.
