Extraterrestrial spacecraft? Advanced government tech? Real aliens? Fallen angels? Human hybrids? The most important question, however, is what is <em>actually <\/em>possible? <!--more--><\/p>\n<p>In this second part, I want to highlight the key theological arguments against extraterrrestrial (ET) life. For this, I&#8217;m turning to the masterful work of my colleague, Prof. Daniel O&#8217;Connor, who has written two exhaustive gems on this subject: <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.ca\/dp\/1957168102?ref_=pe_123916410_1039242100_i_fed_asin_title\">The First and Last Deception:Aliens, UFOs, AI, and the Return of Eden&#8217;s Demise<\/a>, <\/em>and the larger volume, <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.ca\/dp\/1957168064?ref_=pe_123916410_1039242100_i_fed_asin_title\">Only Man Bears His Image<\/a>.\u00a0<\/em>So, while I may only put forth key arguments here, I refer you to the mountain of scriptural and doctrinal evidence in both his books and the video at the bottom of this article. In fact, one of the reasons you haven&#8217;t seen or heard Daniel and I together a whole lot over the past year has been his tireless work to get this information into the public&#8217;s hands in time for the so-called &#8220;day of disclosure&#8221;&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h5>Nothing in the Toolbox<\/h5>\n<p>While some Catholic theologians claim that extraterrestrial (ET) life exists, I argue that the Church has been given <em>zero<\/em> tools to deal with the existence of other planetary civilizations. By this, I mean <em>zero revelation.\u00a0<\/em>According to the\u00a0<em>Catechism of the Catholic Church\u00a0<\/em>and her perennial teaching,\u00a0<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt; font-family: 'trebuchet ms', geneva, sans-serif;\"><strong>The Christian economy, therefore, since it is the new and definitive Covenant, will never pass away; and <em>no new public revelation is to be expected<\/em> before the glorious manifestation of our Lord Jesus Christ.<\/strong> \u2014n. 66<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Here, I am not speaking of new scientific discoveries that may change our understanding of <em>how<\/em> things function \u2014 like the earth being round. Rather, I am speaking of an ontological disclosure that would constitute a veritable rewrite of Public Revelation, a complete disruption of the Christian economy and our understanding of man. I don&#8217;t believe for a second that God has kept hidden, until now, what would constitute a complete reworking of Divine Revelation that would open wide the doors to the greatest deceptions in human history.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft  wp-image-54214\" src=\"https:\/\/www.markmallett.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/Alien-Disclosure.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"326\" height=\"217\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.markmallett.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/Alien-Disclosure.jpg 1800w, https:\/\/www.markmallett.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/Alien-Disclosure-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.markmallett.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/Alien-Disclosure-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.markmallett.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/Alien-Disclosure-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.markmallett.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/Alien-Disclosure-1536x1024.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/www.markmallett.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/Alien-Disclosure-272x182.jpg 272w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 326px) 100vw, 326px\" \/>Imagine turning on the news and hearing governments claim that aliens are among us; that they are an intelligent, unfallen race within God&#8217;s creation. Suddenly, whatever they &#8220;reveal&#8221; must be accepted as &#8220;truth&#8221;, since being unfallen, they would not lie. Whatever they have to &#8220;add&#8221; to our understanding about man, about the angelic realm, God&#8217;s creation, our origin, salvation, the sacraments, the future, about Jesus Christ Himself&#8230; would be accepted by many as new doctrine &#8220;gifted&#8221; to the human race from these rational, advanced beings.<\/p>\n<p>ET promoters <em>know<\/em> this and are quite clear that this would upend theology as we know it. Catholic seminary professor and alien-life believer, Joel Parkyn, says that contact with aliens would&#8230;.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt; font-family: 'trebuchet ms', geneva, sans-serif;\"><strong>&#8220;&#8230;call into question certain cherished religious doctrines,\u201d<\/strong> since <strong>\u201cfor two millennia theology has [had] &#8230; an anthropocentric myopia.\u201d<\/strong> Discovering aliens, he foretells, <strong>\u201cmay wholly redefine many of our conceptions of God and creation,\u201d<\/strong> because:<strong> &#8220;\u2026evidence of a second Genesis could drastically call into question certain Christian foundational theological teachings regarding creation, the Incarnation, and the Redemption. \u2026 [this] would inevitably result in a profound reformulation or recontextualizing of theology&#8230;\u201d <\/strong>\u2014<em>Exotheology: Theological Explorations of Intelligent Extraterrestrial Life<\/em> (Pickwick Publications, 2021), Introduction; (<span style=\"font-size: 10pt; font-family: 'trebuchet ms', geneva, sans-serif;\">cf. <\/span>O&#8217;Connor, Daniel. <em>The First and Last Deception: Aliens, UFOs, AI, and the Return of Eden&#8217;s Demise<\/em> (p. 100), Kindle Edition)<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>No, it would result in <em>apostasy. <\/em>It would, says Jesuit, Fr. Well, that&#8217;s a breathtaking claim \u2014 and here&#8217;s why it&#8217;s a heresy.\u00a0<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt; font-family: 'trebuchet ms', geneva, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"color: #003366;\"><strong>Christ, the Son of God made man, is the Father&#8217;s one, perfect and unsurpassable Word. In Him He has said everything; there will be no other word than this one.<\/strong><\/span> \u2014<em>Catechism of the Catholic Church,\u00a0<\/em>n. 65<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The Catechism goes on to quote the wisdom of St. John of the Cross:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt; font-family: 'trebuchet ms', geneva, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"color: #003366;\"><strong>In giving us his Son, his only Word (for he possesses no other), he spoke everything to us at once in this sole Word \u2014 and he has no more to say&#8230; because what he spoke before to the prophets in parts, he has now spoken all at once by giving us the All Who is His Son. Any person questioning God or desiring some vision or revelation would be guilty not only of foolish behavior but also of offending him, by not fixing his eyes entirely upon Christ and by living with the desire for some other novelty.<\/strong><\/span> \u2014ibid.; <i>The Ascent of Mount Carmel<\/i>\u00a02,22,3-5 in\u00a0<i>The Collected Works of St. John of the Cross<\/i><\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>There is no new revelation coming, either from men or aliens. As it says in Jude 1:3: <em>&#8220;the faith [&#8230;] was once for all delivered to the saints.&#8221; <\/em>Thus, St. Paul warned:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><span style=\"font-size: 10pt; font-family: 'trebuchet ms', geneva, sans-serif;\"><strong>&#8230;even if we, or an angel from heaven, should preach to you a gospel contrary to that which we preached to you, let him be accursed.<\/strong> (Galatians 1:8)<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'trebuchet ms', geneva, sans-serif;\"><strong>For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own likings, and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander into myths.<\/strong> (<\/span>2 Timothy 4:3-4)<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h5>Not Benevolent Aliens but Malevolent Messiahs<\/h5>\n<p>On the other hand, St. Paul was given many explicit &#8220;end-time&#8221; revelations of a coming great delusion, a great apostasy or falling away from the Faith that would befall mankind.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><span style=\"font-size: 10pt; font-family: 'trebuchet ms', geneva, sans-serif;\"><strong>The coming of the lawless one by the activity of Satan will be with all power and with pretended signs and wonders, and with all wicked deception for those who are to perish, because they refused to love the truth and so be saved. Therefore God sends upon them a strong delusion, to make them believe what is false, so that all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.<\/strong> (2 Thessalonians 2:9-12)<\/span><\/p>\n<p>To avoid this deception of the Antichrist and the temptation to grope after a gnosticism that would deify man in the place of God, did St. Paul teach that we should just wait for extraterrestrial revelations, alien disclosures that would save man from himself? On the contrary, he flatly states:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><span style=\"font-size: 10pt; font-family: 'trebuchet ms', geneva, sans-serif;\"><strong>So then, brethren, stand firm and hold to the traditions which you were taught by us, either by word of mouth or by letter.<\/strong> (2 Thessalonians 2:15)<\/span><\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;s it. Stand on what has been revealed to the Church. It is the rock of our salvation. Don&#8217;t look to aliens to redeem the world. Don&#8217;t put your trust in messianic princes. Turn to the infallible Word of God preserved in Sacred Tradition. In fact, Jesus says <em>don&#8217;t <\/em>turn to&#8230; <em>&#8220;false Christs and false prophets [who] will arise and show great signs and wonders, so as to lead astray, if possible, even the elect.&#8221;<\/em><span class=\"footnote_referrer\"><a role=\"button\" tabindex=\"0\" onclick=\"footnote_moveToReference_54210_1('footnote_plugin_reference_54210_1_3');\" onkeypress=\"footnote_moveToReference_54210_1('footnote_plugin_reference_54210_1_3');\" ><sup id=\"footnote_plugin_tooltip_54210_1_3\" class=\"footnote_plugin_tooltip_text\">[3]<\/sup><\/a><span id=\"footnote_plugin_tooltip_text_54210_1_3\" class=\"footnote_tooltip\">Matthew 24:24<\/span><\/span><script type=\"text\/javascript\"> jQuery('#footnote_plugin_tooltip_54210_1_3').tooltip({ tip: '#footnote_plugin_tooltip_text_54210_1_3', tipClass: 'footnote_tooltip', effect: 'fade', predelay: 0, fadeInSpeed: 200, delay: 400, fadeOutSpeed: 200, position: 'top right', relative: true, offset: [10, 10], });<\/script> By the way, some of these false messiahs could well appear as demonic deceptions.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><span style=\"font-size: 10pt; font-family: 'trebuchet ms', geneva, sans-serif;\"><strong>And no wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light.<\/strong> (2 Corinthians 11:14)<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Pastor Joseph Zupetz was among a small group of faith influencers recently invited to a private gathering in a remote mountainous Airbnb in Tennessee in February. They were allegedly given partial disclosure of &#8220;interdimensional&#8221; entities. \u201cAt the meeting, I was shown images from one of the presenters\u2019 devices of entities that were <em>translucent<\/em>, standing in a wooded environment, with long arms and legs,\u201d Zupetz told the <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.com\/sciencetech\/article-15801037\/pastor-secret-UFO-meeting-images-translucent-beings-biblical-prophecy.html\">Daily Mail<\/a><\/em>.<span class=\"footnote_referrer\"><a role=\"button\" tabindex=\"0\" onclick=\"footnote_moveToReference_54210_1('footnote_plugin_reference_54210_1_4');\" onkeypress=\"footnote_moveToReference_54210_1('footnote_plugin_reference_54210_1_4');\" ><sup id=\"footnote_plugin_tooltip_54210_1_4\" class=\"footnote_plugin_tooltip_text\">[4]<\/sup><\/a><span id=\"footnote_plugin_tooltip_text_54210_1_4\" class=\"footnote_tooltip\">cf. <a href=\"https:\/\/endtimeheadlines.org\/2026\/05\/pastor-who-attended-secret-ufo-disclosure-meeting-saw-images-of-translucent-beings-that-chilled-him-to-the-bone\/\">endtimeheadlines.org<\/a><\/span><\/span><script type=\"text\/javascript\"> jQuery('#footnote_plugin_tooltip_54210_1_4').tooltip({ tip: '#footnote_plugin_tooltip_text_54210_1_4', tipClass: 'footnote_tooltip', effect: 'fade', predelay: 0, fadeInSpeed: 200, delay: 400, fadeOutSpeed: 200, position: 'top right', relative: true, offset: [10, 10], });<\/script><\/p>\n<p>As I said in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.markmallett.com\/blog\/the-ufo-delusion-part-i\/\">Part I<\/a>, countless are the testimonies, including those who work in the Pentagon in UFO research, who say that encounters with &#8220;aliens&#8221; bear all the hallmarks of contact with demons. Daniel covers several of these encounters and their diabolical nature in Chapter 13 of <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.ca\/dp\/1957168102?ref_=pe_123916410_1039242100_i_fed_asin_title\">The First and Last Deception<\/a>.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h5>Scientific Implausibility<\/h5>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-54216 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/www.markmallett.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/Universe-Odds.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"324\" height=\"389\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.markmallett.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/Universe-Odds.jpg 1247w, https:\/\/www.markmallett.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/Universe-Odds-249x300.jpg 249w, https:\/\/www.markmallett.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/Universe-Odds-851x1024.jpg 851w, https:\/\/www.markmallett.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/Universe-Odds-768x924.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 324px) 100vw, 324px\" \/>But since many will make appeals to &#8220;science&#8221; to bolster their claims for alien life, it&#8217;s worth pausing for a moment to consider the scientific plausibility of another habitable planet in the Universe. Daniel quotes two scientists who recently presented an explanation of what is needed for complex life to flourish on a planet, and why ours is absolutely rare.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt; font-family: 'trebuchet ms', geneva, sans-serif;\"><strong>Our planet coalesced out of the debris from previous cosmic events at a position within a galaxy highly appropriate for [life]&#8230; around a star also highly appropriate &#8230; We became a planet where global temperatures have allowed liquid water to exist &#8230; and for that, our planet had to have a nearly circular orbit at a distance from a star itself emitting a nearly constant energy output for a long period of time. Our planet received a volume of water sufficient to cover most\u2014but not all\u2014of the planetary surface. Asteroids and comets hit us but not excessively so, thanks to the presence of giant gas planets such as Jupiter beyond us&#8230; Earth received the right range of building materials\u2014and had the correct amount of internal heat\u2014to allow plate tectonics to work on the planet, shaping the continents required and keeping global temperatures within a narrow range &#8230; [The] Earth\u2019s remarkable thermostatic regulating process [always] successfully kept the surface temperature within livable range. Alone among terrestrial planets we have a large moon, and this single fact, which sets us apart from Mercury, Venus, and Mars, may have been crucial to the rise and continued existence of animal life on Earth.<\/strong> \u2014<em>Rare Earth; <\/em>quoted in <em>The First and Last Deception, <\/em>(pp. 57-58), Kindle Edition<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Astrophysicist Dr. Hugh Ross compiled a more thorough list of 153 prerequisites for any planet to be compatible with life. He concludes:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt; font-family: 'trebuchet ms', geneva, sans-serif;\"><strong>The probability of a planet anywhere in the universe fitting within all 153 parameters [required for life to even be possible] is approximately 10^-194. The maximum possible number of planets in the universe is estimated to be 10^22. Even if it were true, St. Pio would simply be mistaken on this matter.<\/p>\n<p>But what is most fascinating is perhaps the timing of both the explosion of UFO sightings, which began after WWII in 1947, and the death of the famed Servant of God Luisca Piccarreta. Says O&#8217;Connor:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt; font-family: 'trebuchet ms', geneva, sans-serif;\"><strong>She was endorsed by multiple canonized saints who knew her\u2014including Padre Pio. So others suggest these &#8220;sons of God&#8221; are extraterrestrials, which still incurred God&#8217;s wrath. However, Scripture scholar Dr. Scott Hahn affirms that &#8220;&#8230;angels cannot reproduce like humans, as <img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft  wp-image-54220\" src=\"https:\/\/www.markmallett.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/Giant-Footprint.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"325\" height=\"433\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.markmallett.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/Giant-Footprint.jpg 750w, https:\/\/www.markmallett.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/Giant-Footprint-225x300.jpg 225w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 325px) 100vw, 325px\" \/>Augustine and Aquinas pointed out long ago.&#8221; Rather, he says, the &#8220;sons of God&#8221; are the line of divine sonship stemming from Adam&#8217;s other son, Seth. The principal characteristic of this level is attachment to a private world of ego-fulfilment and a consequent (though not always apparent) withdrawal from the world. On this level, the<i>\u00a0New Age<\/i> has become populated with strange and exotic beings, masters, adepts, extraterrestrials; it is a place of psychic powers and occult mysteries, of conspiracies and hidden teachings.\u201d<\/strong> \u2014from David Spangler,<i>\u00a0The Rebirth of the Sacred,<\/i> London (Gateway Books) 1984, p. 78; cf. <em>Jesus Christ the Water Bearer of Life,<\/em> 3.2, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vatican.va\/roman_curia\/pontifical_councils\/interelg\/documents\/rc_pc_interelg_doc_20030203_new-age_en.html#fn55\">vatican.va<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Thus, it is no surprise that a U.S. Air Force Office of Scientific Research Report concluded decades ago:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt; font-family: 'trebuchet ms', geneva, sans-serif;\"><strong>Many of the UFO reports now being published in the popular press recount alleged Incidents that are strikingly similar to demoniac possession and psychic phenomena which have long been known to theologians&#8230;<\/strong>\u00a0\u2014cf. <a href=\"https:\/\/apps.dtic.mil\/sti\/pdfs\/AD0688332.pdf\">apps.dtic.mil<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Here, one cannot say enough about <em>discernment. <\/em>Suffice it for now to quote Our Lord, who said:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><span style=\"font-size: 10pt; font-family: 'trebuchet ms', geneva, sans-serif;\"><strong>Either make the tree good, and its fruit good; or make the tree bad, and its fruit bad; for the tree is known by its fruit.<\/strong> (Matthew 12:33)<\/span><\/p>\n<p>In his video summary, O&#8217;Connor makes a rather revealing point \u2014 and so I&#8217;ll give him the last word:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><span style=\"font-size: 10pt; font-family: 'trebuchet ms', geneva, sans-serif;\"><strong>Every pagan religion believes in aliens.
