They shall beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning hooks; one nation shall not raise the sword against another, nor shall they train for war again.<\/strong> (Isaiah 2:4); cf.\u00a0<em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.markmallett.com\/blog\/the-day-of-justice\/\">The Day of Justice<\/a><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.markmallett.com\/blog\/how-the-era-was-lost\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Early Church Fathers<\/a> understood this <em>literally<\/em>, as have <a href=\"https:\/\/www.markmallett.com\/blog\/the-popes-and-a-dawning-new-age\/\">numerous popes<\/a>, while approved and credible <a href=\"https:\/\/www.countdowntothekingdom.com\/the-era-of-peace-snippets-from-many-private-revelations\/\">prophetic revelations<\/a> affirm Sacred Tradition. Pope Pius XI aptly sums up 2000 years of expectant prophecy:\u00a0<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt; font-family: 'trebuchet ms', geneva, sans-serif;\"><strong>\u201cAnd they shall hear my voice, and there shall be one fold and one shepherd.\u201d May God\u2026 shortly bring to fulfillment His prophecy for transforming this consoling vision of the future into a present reality\u2026 The Pope, no matter who he shall be, will always repeat the words: &#8220;I think thoughts of peace not of affliction&#8221; <\/strong>(<i>Jeremias<\/i> xxix, 11)<strong>, thoughts of a true peace which is founded on justice and which permit him truthfully to say: &#8220;Justice and Peace have kissed&#8221; <\/strong>(<i>Psalms<\/i> lxxxiv, 11)&#8230;<strong> It is God&#8217;s task to bring about this happy hour and to make it known to all&#8230; When it does arrive, it will turn out to be a solemn hour, one big with consequences not only for the restoration of the Kingdom of Christ, but for the pacification of&#8230; the world&#8230;. <\/strong><strong>We pray most fervently, and ask others likewise to pray for this much-desired pacification of society.<\/strong> \u2014POPE PIUS XI,<em> Ubi Arcani dei Consilioi \u201cOn the Peace of Christ in his Kingdom\u201d<\/em>, December 23, 1922<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The prevailing question at this hour is <em>how?<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h5>The Woman Clothed in the Sun<\/h5>\n<p>The answer is hinted at in the Twelfth chapter of Revelation.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><span style=\"font-size: 10pt; font-family: 'trebuchet ms', geneva, sans-serif;\"><strong>A great sign appeared in the sky, a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of twelve stars. She was with child and wailed aloud in pain as she labored to give birth.<\/strong> (Revelation 12:1-2)<\/span><\/p>\n<p>From the beginning in Genesis 3:15, God declared that there would be a battle between this Woman and the serpent, her offspring and Satan&#8217;s. Some fundamentalist Christians claim that this role ascribed to the Virgin Mary somehow detracts from Jesus as Lord and Savior. But the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.scborromeo.org\/ccc\/p123a9p6.htm#970\"><em>Catechism of the Catholic Church<\/em><\/a>\u00a0explains:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt; font-family: 'trebuchet ms', geneva, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"color: #003366;\"><strong>Mary&#8217;s function as mother of men in no way obscures or diminishes this unique mediation of Christ, but rather shows its power&#8230; the Blessed Virgin&#8217;s salutary influence on men&#8230; flows forth from the superabundance of the merits of Christ, rests on His mediation, depends entirely on it, and draws all its power from it.<\/strong><\/span> \u2014n. 970; cf. <em>Lumen Gentium<\/em>, 62<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Jesus shows how powerful He is\u00a0<em>precisely\u00a0<\/em>by working through mere creatures such as you and me, and of course, the Blessed Mother whose heel will crush the serpent.<span class=\"footnote_referrer\"><a role=\"button\" tabindex=\"0\" onclick=\"footnote_moveToReference_54877_1('footnote_plugin_reference_54877_1_6');\" onkeypress=\"footnote_moveToReference_54877_1('footnote_plugin_reference_54877_1_6');\" ><sup id=\"footnote_plugin_tooltip_54877_1_6\" class=\"footnote_plugin_tooltip_text\">[6]<\/sup><\/a><span id=\"footnote_plugin_tooltip_text_54877_1_6\" class=\"footnote_tooltip\">&#8220;she shall crush your head, and you shall lie in wait for her heel&#8221; (Gen 3:15, <em>Douay-Rheims.) <\/em>Says Pope John Paul II: \u201c\u2026this version [in the Latin] does not agree with the Hebrew text, in which it is not the woman but her offspring, her descendant, who will bruise\u00a0the serpent\u2019s head. This text then does not attribute the victory over Satan to Mary but to her Son. Nevertheless, since the biblical concept\u00a0establishes a profound solidarity between the parent and the offspring, the depiction of the Immaculata crushing the serpent, not by her own\u00a0power but through the grace of her Son, is consistent with the original meaning of the passage.\u201d (POPE JOHN PAUL II, \u201cMary\u2019s Emnity toward\u00a0Satan was Absolute\u201d; General Audience, May 29th, 1996;\u00a0<a class=\"\" href=\"http:\/\/ewtn.com\/\">ewtn.com.)<\/a>\u00a0The footnote in the\u00a0<i class=\"\">Douay-Rheims\u00a0<\/i>agrees: \u201cThe sense is the same: for it is by her seed, Jesus Christ, that the woman crushes the serpent\u2019s head.\u201d (Footnote, p. 8; Baronius Press Limited, London, 2003) <\/span><\/span><script type=\"text\/javascript\"> jQuery('#footnote_plugin_tooltip_54877_1_6').tooltip({ tip: '#footnote_plugin_tooltip_text_54877_1_6', tipClass: 'footnote_tooltip', effect: 'fade', predelay: 0, fadeInSpeed: 200, delay: 400, fadeOutSpeed: 200, position: 'top right', relative: true, offset: [10, 10], });<\/script> Or do you deny Christ&#8217;s own words to His Church, which Mary belongs to?<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><span style=\"font-size: 10pt; font-family: 'trebuchet ms', geneva, sans-serif;\"><strong>Behold, I have given you the power \u2018to tread upon serpents\u2019 and scorpions and upon the full force of the enemy and nothing will harm you.<\/strong> (Luke 10:19)<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Jesus also reveals His power in sending His Mother or the Saints to speak and appear to the Church militant on earth, which, as I explained in an earlier reflection, is thoroughly biblical (see <a href=\"https:\/\/www.markmallett.com\/blog\/can-mary-speak-to-us\/\"><em>Can Mary Speak to Us?<\/em><\/a>). And so, Our Lady has appeared at the end of this age to carry out the ordained plan of God, which, as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vatican.va\/content\/pius-x\/en\/encyclicals\/documents\/hf_p-x_enc_04101903_e-supremi.html\">Pius X<\/a> and XI taught, is the &#8220;restoration of the Kingdom of Christ.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"box-sizing: border-box; margin: 0px; padding: 0px;\">Here, we&#8217;re not speaking of millenarian utopia,<span class=\"footnote_referrer\"><a role=\"button\" tabindex=\"0\" onclick=\"footnote_moveToReference_54877_1('footnote_plugin_reference_54877_1_7');\" onkeypress=\"footnote_moveToReference_54877_1('footnote_plugin_reference_54877_1_7');\" ><sup id=\"footnote_plugin_tooltip_54877_1_7\" class=\"footnote_plugin_tooltip_text\">[7]<\/sup><\/a><span id=\"footnote_plugin_tooltip_text_54877_1_7\" class=\"footnote_tooltip\">cf.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.markmallett.com\/blog\/millenarianism-what-it-is-and-is-not\/\"><em>Millenarianism &#8211; What it is and is Not<\/em><\/span><\/span><script type=\"text\/javascript\"> jQuery('#footnote_plugin_tooltip_54877_1_7').tooltip({ tip: '#footnote_plugin_tooltip_text_54877_1_7', tipClass: 'footnote_tooltip', effect: 'fade', predelay: 0, fadeInSpeed: 200, delay: 400, fadeOutSpeed: 200, position: 'top right', relative: true, offset: [10, 10], });<\/script><\/a>\u00a0but a Kingdom <em>within\u00a0<\/em>the hearts of the faithful that will be restored (cf.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.markmallett.com\/blog\/the-resurrection-of-the-church\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>The Resurrection of the Church<\/em><\/a>) \u2014 the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.markmallett.com\/blog\/the-resurrection-of-the-church\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Kingdom of the Divine Will<\/a> that we invoke every single day in the &#8220;Our Father.&#8221; And t<\/span>his coming of His Kingdom will have &#8220;big&#8230; consequences&#8221; for the world.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h5>The Mother of All Nations<\/h5>\n<p>In the first days of the Church-sanctioned apparitions in Medjugorje,<span class=\"footnote_referrer\"><a role=\"button\" tabindex=\"0\" onclick=\"footnote_moveToReference_54877_1('footnote_plugin_reference_54877_1_8');\" onkeypress=\"footnote_moveToReference_54877_1('footnote_plugin_reference_54877_1_8');\" ><sup id=\"footnote_plugin_tooltip_54877_1_8\" class=\"footnote_plugin_tooltip_text\">[8]<\/sup><\/a><span id=\"footnote_plugin_tooltip_text_54877_1_8\" class=\"footnote_tooltip\">cf. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.markmallett.com\/blog\/medjugorje-and-hairsplitting\/\"><em>Medjugorje&#8230; and Hairsplitting<\/em><\/a><\/span><\/span><script type=\"text\/javascript\"> jQuery('#footnote_plugin_tooltip_54877_1_8').tooltip({ tip: '#footnote_plugin_tooltip_text_54877_1_8', tipClass: 'footnote_tooltip', effect: 'fade', predelay: 0, fadeInSpeed: 200, delay: 400, fadeOutSpeed: 200, position: 'top right', relative: true, offset: [10, 10], });<\/script> Our Lady began to reveal &#8220;secrets&#8221; to the six seers; ten in total would be revealed.
