\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

AN <\/strong>American Veteran said to a friend, “China will invade America, and they will do it without firing a single bullet.”<\/p>\n

That may or may not be true. But as we look at our store shelves, there is something strange in that nearly everything we buy, even some food and pharmaceuticals, is being “Made in China” (one could say that North Americans have already given away “industrial sovereignty.”) These goods are becoming increasingly cheaper to buy, fueling more consumerism.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Recall again the words of the Holy Father…<\/p>\n

\n

We see this power, the force of the red dragon\u2026 in new and different ways. It exists in the form of materialistic ideologies that tell us it is absurd to think of God; it is absurd to observe God\u2019s commandments: they are a leftover from a time past. Life is only worth living for its own sake. Take everything we can get in this brief moment of life. Was this strategy of Communism the very warning our Mother gave us at Fatima?<\/p>\n

THE TIMES ARE NEAR<\/p>\n

I believe we are drawing ever nearer to the time of the Illumination. When asked when it would be, the alleged seer of Garabandal, Spain, Conchita, said this:<\/p>\n

“When Communism comes again everything will happen.”<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

The author responded: <\/span>“What do you mean by comes again?”<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

“Yes, when it newly comes again,” <\/span><\/strong>she replied.<\/span><\/p>\n

“Does that mean that Communism will go away before that?”<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

WHY US?<\/p>\n

From a reader in response to China Rising<\/em><\/a>:<\/p>\n

I was just wondering why the USA is always being mentioned as the wrong doers? China—of all places—not only aborts, but kills children as infants to control the population. So many other countries forbid basic human needs. The USA feeds the world; it sends American’s hard earned money to countries that don’t even appreciate us, and yet, we<\/em> are going to suffer? <\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

When I read this, these words immediately came to me:<\/p>\n

Much will be required of the person entrusted with much, and still more will be demanded of the person entrusted with more. (Luke 12:48) <\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

I believe Canada and America have been<\/em> protected and spared from many disasters precisely<\/em> because of their generosity and openness to many peoples and Christianity itself.<\/p>\n

\n

I had the opportunity to pay homage to that great country (USA), which from its beginnings was built on the foundation of a harmonious union between religious, ethical and political principles…<\/strong>. —POPE BENEDICT XVI, Meeting with President George Bush, April 2008 <\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

However, that harmony is increasingly discordant as both countries rapidly depart from their Christian origins. The further we move away from our foundation, the further we move away from God’s protection… <\/em>just as the prodigal son lost protection when he refused to remain under his father’s roof.<\/p>\n

Moreover, because of our (particularly America’s) prominent place in the world, we have a grave responsibility to lead other nations into true freedom—which is not democracy—but liberation from sin<\/em>. On the contrary, our countries have polluted budding democracies, such as Poland, Ukraine, and others, with a torrent of materialism, pornography, condoms, and mindless hedonism. To whom much is given, much is required. <\/em><\/p>\n

\n

Not many of you should become teachers, my brothers, for you realize that we will be judged more strictly. (James 3:1)<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The truth is, statistically, North American Christians now appear no different than the rest of the world: our divorce rate is the same, our abortion rate, our addiction rates, our material priorities etc. We cannot live in deception: we have generally lost the faith<\/em>—and are now leading others astray (Luke 17:2).\u00a0<\/p>\n

Christ had strong words for those Pharisees who thought outward works merited them eternal life when, in reality, they were oppressing others and living a dual life.<\/p>\n

\n

Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, you hypocrites. You pay tithes of mint and dill and cummin, and have neglected the weightier things of the law: judgment and mercy and fidelity. These you should have done, without neglecting the others. (Matt 23:23) <\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Indeed, judgment begins with the household of God.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

LETTERS TO THE CHURCH<\/p>\n

The Apocalypse of St. John begins with seven letters to seven Churches. In them, Jesus praises the good works of His people, and yet He warns them that there is need for repentance. In some cases, the warning is strong.<\/p>\n

\n

Realize how far you have fallen. Repent, and do the works you did at first. Otherwise, I will come to you and remove your lampstand from its place, unless you repent. (Rev 2:5)<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

This is precisely the prophetic warning reiterated by the Holy Father to us… us, to whom much has been given.<\/p>\n

\n

The threat of judgment also concerns us, the Church in Europe, Europe and the West in general… the Lord is also crying out to our ears the words that in the Book of Revelation he addresses to the Church of Ephesus: \u201cIf you do not repent I will come to you and remove your lampstand from its place.” Light can also be taken away from us and we do well to let this warning ring out with its full seriousness in our hearts, while crying to the Lord: \u201cHelp us to repent! Give all of us the grace of true renewal! Do not allow your light in our midst to blow out! Strengthen our faith, our hope and our love, so that we can bear good fruit!\u201d <\/strong>\u2014POPE BENEDICT XVI, Opening Homily<\/em>, Synod of Bishops, October 2nd, 2005, Rome. <\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Any judgment which may befall our nations could properly be said to be “Made in Canada” or “Made in America”.\u00a0<\/p>\n
