You Be Noah

If I could collect the tears of all the parents who have shared their heartbreak and grief of how their children have left the Faith, I’d have a small ocean. But that ocean would be but a droplet compared to the Ocean of Mercy that flows from the Heart of Christ. There is no One more interested, more invested, or burning with more desire for the salvation of your family members than Jesus Christ who suffered and died for them. Nonetheless, what can you do when, despite your prayers and best efforts, your children continue to reject their Christian faith creating all kinds of internal problems, divisions, and angst in your family or their lives? Moreover, as you pay attention to the “signs of the times” and how God is preparing to purify the world once again, you ask, “What about my children?”Continue reading

The Work of the Now Word

My son Kevin and wife Lea
helping with “Thank You” cards to our readers

Last month, I wrote an appeal for support to my readers (see Moving Forward Together). I want to say how grateful I am to those who responded. But this is also an opportunity for me to apologize to all those who sent letters via the postal system. While I am caught up on thank-you emails, I have fallen woefully behind on getting thank-yous out to those of you who have taken the time to write in pen and ink over the past two years. This week, we will (finally) be sending those cards off in the mail. So please know that I have not forgotten you, and I am sorry for taking so long to reply!Continue reading

The Explanation

Always be ready to give an explanation

(1 Peter 3:15)

I am not ashamed of the Gospel:
it is the power of God for salvation
to everyone who has faith.

Do you know how to share the Gospel? Would you even know what to say? Are you ready to share it, “whether it is convenient or inconvenient” (2 Timothy 4:2)?Continue reading

The Line in the Sand

I have been sitting on this article for weeks, waiting for the right moment to publish it. Recent events in Iran seem to be the cue. I will get back to my reflections on evangelization shortly…

Did you hear it? Did you hear the line being drawn in the sand at the Davos gathering in Switzerland? Howard Lutnick, the U.S. Secretary of Commerce, declared to the annual World Economic Forum meeting of elites what they did not want to hear: “Globalization has failed the West…” he said, and then affirmed the “America first” approach (nationalism), which is the antithesis of globalization.Continue reading
