Is Your Head Spinning?

There is, as it were,
a very significant acceleration in time;
there’s an acceleration in time
just as there’s an acceleration in speed.
And we go faster and faster.
We must be very attentive to this
to understand what is happening
in today’s world…

—Fr. Marie-Dominique Philippe, O.P.,
The Catholic Church at the End of an Age, Ralph Martin, p. 15-16

World events are moving faster and faster. Revolutionary change is coming at us like the winds of a hurricane as we approach the eye of the Great Storm. As a watchman, I am amazed at the seismic news stories we track in a single day — the equivalent of a year’s worth of major stories only a few decades ago. Who can keep track of the wars, the sudden imposition of A.I., the soaring costs of living, the divisions in our families and nations, and the crisis of leadership in the Church? These are ferocious winds that, if we’re not careful, can blind, disorientate, and discourage us.

As I was penning this reflection, a colleague sent a message saying,

Look to the left…madness. Look to the right…madness. Just look at the “headlines,” it’s all madness. Why? It really is something to behold.

It really is. So how do we keep our eyes straightforward on Jesus, without being blinded by the flying debris of this Storm? The first thing is to recognize that this is an intentional Storm of man’s own making…

It is Man-Made

Ordo ab chaos — “order out of chaos.” It is the literal motto and strategy of the globalist elite to create chaos and divisions among us… and then emerge as messianists with the solutions — solutions that always erode the foundations of Christendom just a little bit more until, eventually, the whole edifice will collapse. We are rapidly approaching that moment, a moment Benedict XVI foresaw as he compared our generation to the collapse of the Roman Empire.

The disintegration of the key principles of law and of the fundamental moral attitudes underpinning them burst open the dams which until that time had protected peaceful coexistence among peoples. The sun was setting over an entire world. Frequent natural disasters further increased this sense of insecurity. There was no power in sight that could put a stop to this decline. All the more insistent, then, was the invocation of the power of God: the plea that he might come and protect his people from all these threats. —POPE BENEDICT XVI, Address to the Roman Curia, December 20th, 2010; vatican.va

The moment we are living through now is akin to the father of the prodigal son removing the restrainer that kept him home. He let the boy take his inheritance and sow chaos into his life.

When they sow the wind, they shall reap the whirlwind. (Hos 8:7)

In a recent message allegedly from Our Lady to Pedro Regis, she says:

Men have defied the Creator and will drink the bitter cup of suffering. The great chastisement will come by the hands of men themselves. Sodom and the Flood will be remembered as minor chastisements compared to what is to come.May 3, 2026

The restrainer that has been lifted[1]cf. Removing the Restrainer in our hour is plausibly ushering in the “lawless one” himself:

…that day will not come, unless the rebellion comes first, and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of perdition… For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only he who now restrains it will do so until he is out of the way. And then the lawless one will be revealed… (cf. 2 Thessalonians 2:3-8)

Warp Speed, Shock and Awe

You might remember George Bush threatening Iraq with “shock and awe” after the events of 911. What many don’t realize is that doctrine was more of a psychological than military weapon. The intent of “shock and awe” is to establish dominance, to…

…affect the will, perception, and understanding of the adversary… through imposing… this overwhelming level of Shock and Awe against an adversary on an immediate or sufficiently timely basis to paralyze its will to carry on … [to] seize control of the environment and paralyze or so overload an adversary’s perceptions and understanding of events that the enemy would be incapable of resistance at the tactical and strategic levels… Clearly, deception, confusion, misinformation, and disinformation, perhaps in massive amounts, must be employed.  —Harlan K. Ullman and James P. Wade, Shock And Awe: Achieving Rapid Dominance (National Defense University, 1996), XXIV-XXV

This doctrine has been employed on the world now by suddenly overwhelming systems with immigrants, purposely driving nations into debt, provoking endless wars, creating new forms of racism and class divisions, redefining gender and the natural law, filling the airwaves with apocalyptic threats of “pandemics” and “global warming,” pushing an alien/UFO deception, and threatening absolutely anyone who questions the narrative with denialism or hate speech.

Shock and awe. And you must choose sides:

Today we are shocked. A simplistic and infantilizing official discourse is hammered in all directions, driving our contemporaries to a scandalously binary choice: to be for, and to side with the camp of good docile citizens, or to be against and to see themselves singled out, considered at best selfish, irresponsible, at worst as “dangerous conspirators”. —Le Collectif Reinfocovid, a collective of caregivers, doctors and university scientists in France (Google translation)

As King Charles travels about the world meeting with heads of state, let us not forget that it was he who launched the official battle cry of the Great Reset as essentially a “shock and awe” campaign:

Without swift and immediate action, at an unprecedented pace and scale, we will miss the window of opportunity to ‘reset’ for… a more sustainable and inclusive future… With the urgency that now exists around avoiding irreversible damage to our planet, we must put ourselves on what can only be described as a war footing. —Prince Charles, dailymail.com, September 20th, 2020

Mass Propaganda

Dr. Mark Crispin Miller, PhD., an expert on propaganda whom I spoke with during the COVID global shutdown, has described recent events as a mass deception. But he offers this sound advice:

Since winning propaganda floods the media (suffusing everything you read, watch, and/or listen to) and thereby floods the mind, the only way to break its spell, at first on you, is to deliberately rise out of it, pull high up and away from it, dry off, and squeeze that salty water from your eyes, and so start looking at it, and not through it, in order to attain that critical distance without which there is no telling truth from lie, or knowing anything about what we might quaintly call “reality.” Without that separation from the flood—the Latin criticus, whence “critic” comes,” derives from the Greek kritikos (“capable of judgment”), whose root is krinein, “to separate” (or “decide”)—it is impossible to keep your head above that rising flood-tide, which, if you don’t, will carry you away, along with everybody else. — “Masking Ourselves to Death: A stunning propaganda win for voodoo epidemiology”, September 4th, 2020; markcrispinmiller.com

Yes, we have to rise above this Storm rather than try to navigate through it without grace.[2]eg. Spiraling Toward the Eye That’s a difficult thing to do when the noise of the world is overwhelming. On the one hand, we want to “watch and pray” as Our Lord commanded us. On the other, we risk losing sight of the big picture and getting sucked into the vortex. By this I mean a constant consumption of the unrestrained lawlessness of this hour — hyper-sexualization of celebrities, shocking violence, a barrage of foul language, things that widdle away at our innocence and do violence to the soul. According to one study, Gen Z adults and younger millennials are now “completely overwhelmed” by stress.'[3]cf. apa.org

One of the greatest challenges of our times is the systematic rewiring of our brains through technology. The daily stimulus of social media, pornography, and entertainment is literally changing our brains. The ability, then, to focus, to think critically, to perceive reality, as Dr. Miller says, is being lost.

We have to put down our phones, close our browsers, and be deliberate about detoxifying from the internet and how much time we spend there.

It’s a Spiritual War

The great deception of our times is to see one another as enemies, to divide ourselves into “left” and “right”, “liberal” or “conservative.” These labels are hard to avoid. But what’s even harder is to see past them to the image of God in which each person is created.

For our struggle is not with flesh and blood but with the principalities, with the powers, with the world rulers of this present darkness, with the evil spirits in the heavens. (Ephesians 6:12)

You’ll know you have risen above the Storm when you are able, sincerely, to love your enemies. At the same time, we have to be realists and recognize that a real sifting of the weeds from the wheat is occurring at the end of this age. The danger today is that many who think they are wheat are growing like weeds.

The world is rapidly being divided into two camps, the comradeship of anti-Christ and the brotherhood of Christ. The lines between these two are being drawn. How long the battle will be we know not; whether swords will have to be unsheathed we know not; whether blood will have to be shed we know not; whether it will be an armed conflict we know not. But in a conflict between truth and darkness, truth cannot lose. —Venerable Bishop Fulton John Sheen, D.D. (1895-1979), televion series

But St. Paul tells us precisely how to know which dividing line we stand on, how to withstand that Storm:

Therefore, brothers, stand firm and hold fast to the traditions that you were taught, either by an oral statement or by a letter of ours. (2 Thess 2:13-15)

Take Refuge

I don’t think we can underestimate what Heaven has revealed to us about the Blessed Virgin Mary’s role at this hour.

My Immaculate Heart will be your refuge and the way that will lead you to God. —Our Lady of Fatima, June 13, 1917, The Revelation of the Two Hearts in Modern Times, www.ewtn.com

In the approved apparitions to Elizabeth Kindelmann, Jesus himself said:

My Mother is Noah’s Ark… —The Flame of Love, p. 109; Imprimatur from Archbishop Charles Chaput

How does one enter this ark? I have written a reflection on this called Taking Mary Into Your Homein imitation of both St. Joseph and St. John. Our Lady invites us to take her hand while not minimizing the trial we face:

The elect souls will have to fight the Prince of Darkness. It will be a frightening Storm — no, not a storm, but a hurricane devastating everything! He even wants to destroy the faith and confidence of the elect. I will always be beside you in the Storm that is now brewing. I am your mother. I can help you and I want to!  —Message from the Blessed Virgin Mary to Elizabeth Kindelmann (1913-1985); approved by Cardinal Péter Erdö, primate of Hungary

Lord of the Storm

Finally, I think one of the great risks we all face is to despair at the truly violent waves that the Barque of Peter has begun to navigate. Her sails are torn by apathy and apostasy, unable to hold the winds of the Spirit; the mast of her communal prayer (liturgy) is beginning to split; her hull is lashed by gaping holes, taking on the waters of worldliness and compromise. “There is a strong sense that the Church is like a ship without a rudder,” said Cardinal Raymond Burke.[4]Nov 3, 2014; sojo.net

Perhaps like the Apostles of old, we, too, are crying out:

Teacher, do you not care that we are perishing? (Mark 4:38)

Again, I don’t want to pretend that this Storm isn’t a big deal, or that the waves crashing down on the Apostles were a small thing. The Catechism places everything into balance:

According to the Lord, the present time is the time of the Spirit and of witness, but also a time still marked by “distress” and the trial of evil which does not spare the Church and ushers in the struggles of the last days. It is a time of waiting and watching… The Church will enter the glory of the kingdom only through this final Passover, when she will follow her Lord in his death and Resurrection. —Catechism of the Catholic Church, 672, 677

Even though this Storm is undoubtedly satanic in many respects, Jesus is using each labor pain as a means to purify and prepare His Bride for His return. He is the Lord of the Storm — not Satan. And so, He rightly chastises us, too, when we panic at the daily waves crashing upon us:

Why are you afraid? Have you no faith?… When you hear of wars and tumults, do not be terrified; for this must first take place, but the end will not be at once. (Mark 4:40, Luke 21:9)

God’s warning is over the world. Those who stay in the Lord have nothing to fear, but those who deny what comes from him do. Two-thirds of the world is lost and the other part must pray and make reparation for the Lord to take pity. The devil wants to have full domination over the earth. He wants to destroy. The earth is in great danger… At these moments all humanity is hanging by a thread. If the thread breaks, many will be those who do not reach salvation. That is why I call you to reflection. Hurry because time is running out; there will be no room for those who delay in coming!… The weapon that has the greatest influence on evil is to say the Rosary… A new time has begun. A new hope has born; attach yourselves to this hope. The very intense light of Christ is going to be reborn, for just as on Calvary, after Crucifixion and death, the Resurrection took place, the Church, too, will be born again through the strength of love. —Our Lady to Gladys Herminia Quiroga; approved on May 22nd, 2016 by Bishop Hector Sabatino Cardelli; cf. The Resurrection of the Church

Ah, my daughter, the creature always races more into evil. How many machinations of ruin they are preparing! They will go so far as to exhaust themselves in evil. But while they occupy themselves in going their way, I will occupy Myself with the completion and fulfillment of My Fiat Voluntas Tua  (“Thy will be done”) so that My Will reign on earth—but in an all-new manner. Ah yes, I want to confound man in Love! Therefore, be attentive. I want you with Me to prepare this Era of Celestial and Divine Love…—Jesus to Servant of God, Luisa Piccarreta, Manuscripts, Feb 8th, 1921
