Leo XIV and the Future

A Pope chooses his new name, which in itself, may signal the emphasis of a papacy. As is usually the case, the Pope simply explains it himself:

Sensing myself called to continue in this same path, I chose to take the name Leo XIV. There are different reasons for this, but mainly because Pope Leo XIII in his historic Encyclical Rerum Novarum addressed the social question in the context of the first great industrial revolution. In our own day, the Church offers to everyone the treasury of her social teaching in response to another industrial revolution and to developments in the field of artificial intelligence that pose new challenges for the defence of human dignity, justice and labour. — POPE LEO XIV, meeting with Cardinals, May 10, 2025

This is a packed statement, given the context of this present hour…

The Fourth Industrial Revolution

Choosing to follow in Pope Leo XIII’s footsteps is more than poignant — and to what degree it is meaningful to Leo XIV remains to be seen. But context is everything.

It was Leo XIII who penned the authoritative encyclicals against socialism (Quod Apostolici Muneris) and those carrying out the “monstrous doctrines of the socialists and communists”, that is the Freemasons, in Humanum Genus:

At this period, however, the partisans of evil seems to be combining together, and to be struggling with united vehemence, led on or assisted by that strongly organized and widespread association called the Freemasons. No longer making any secret of their purposes, they are now boldly rising up against God Himself …that which is their ultimate purpose forces itself into view—namely, the utter overthrow of that whole religious and political order of the world which the Christian teaching has produced, and the substitution of a new state of things in accordance with their ideas, of which the foundations and laws shall be drawn from mere naturalism. —POPE LEO XIII, Humanum Genus, Encyclical on Freemasonry, n.10, April 20th, 1884

Today, these “ideas”, far from having been buried beneath the rubble of the Berlin Wall, were redirected from the Russian experiment within the U.S.S.R. to a global venue — namely the United Nations. These Masonic “ideas” now boldly appear in the so-called “sustainable development goals” of Agenda 2030 and UN partners such as the World Economic Forum (WEF). Leo XIV speaks of “another industrial revolution”, which is referred to as the “Fourth Industrial Revolution,” a term coined by founder Klaus Schwab.[1]2015 Foreign Affairs article According to Schwab, this new revolution involves…

…the fusion of our physical, our digital and our biological identities. —Chairman Prof. Klaus Schwab, World Economic Forum, The Rise of the Antichurch, 20:11 mark, rumble.com

As WEF advisor, Yuval Noah Harari, arrogantly states:

Homo sapiens as we know them will probably disappear within a century or so, not destroyed by killer robots or things like that, but changed and upgraded with biotechnology and artificial intelligence into something else, into something different. —Yuval Noah Harari, The GuardianMarch 19, 2017As

Thus, Pope Leo XIV rightly warns that “the field of artificial intelligence [poses] new challenges for the defence of human dignity, justice and labour.”[2]cf. Singularity vs The Single Will Which is why he refers to Rerum Novarum, the locus for his pontifical name. Within that Encyclical, it’s clear the papacy was prophetically cognizant of the dangers that would explode upon the entire globe some 140 years later in what is now coined the “Great Reset,” another term for this revolution.

On Dignity, Justice, and Labor

On “human dignity” and the idea that we can fundamentally alter our bodies (transhumanism) as Schwab breathlessly anticipates, Pope Leo XIII warned:

No man may with impunity outrage that human dignity which God Himself treats with great reverence, nor stand in the way of that higher life which is the preparation of the eternal life of heaven. Nay, more; no man has in this matter power over himself.Rerum Novarumn. 40

When it comes to matters of “justice”, we see another outrageous proposition from the WEF — by 2030 “You’ll own nothing. And you’ll be happy”, as their promotional video muses. Here again, Pope Leo XIII had tackled the error of the abdication of private property, which is central to the Marxist/Communist worldview:

…it is clear that the main tenet of socialism, community of goods, must be utterly rejected, since it only injures those whom it would seem meant to benefit, is directly contrary to the natural rights of mankind, and would introduce confusion and disorder into the commonweal. The first and most fundamental principle, therefore, if one would undertake to alleviate the condition of the masses, must be the inviolability of private property.Rerum Novarumn. 15; see CCC, n. 2403 and The Great Theft

As Nessa Webster rightly explains, “the law of property was not man staking out his claim, but the first bird appropriating the branch of a tree whereon to build its nest, the first rabbit selecting the spot wherein to burrow out his hole — a right that no other bird or rabbit has ever dreamt of disputing. As to the distribution of the ‘fruits of the earth’, one has only to watch two thrushes on the lawn disputing over a worm to see how the question of food supply is settled in primitive society.”[3]Nesta Webster, World Revolution, The Plot Against Civilization, pp. 1-2

On the issue of “labour,” mankind is facing an imminent crisis with the exponential growth of articifical intelligence, which through automation and robotics, is expected to displace millions upon millions of jobs. While the WEF’s website claims that millions of net jobs will be created,[4]cf. weforum.org Harari is far more honest:

In the 21st century we might witness the creation of a massive new unworking class: people devoid of any economic, political or even artistic value, who contribute nothing to the prosperity, power and glory of society. This “useless class” will not merely be unemployed — it will be unemployable. —excerpted from his book: Homo Deus: A brief history of tomorrow; cf. ideas.ted.com

The “Useless” People

So what do you do with millions if not billions of “useless” people? Perhaps the answer lies in another question: Why are the world’s major power brokers obsessed with population control?[5]cf. The Labor Pains – Depopulation? and The Pandemic of Control

…since the 1920’s the Rockefeller Foundation had funded the eugenics research in Germany through the Kaiser-Wilhelm Institutes in Berlin and Munich, including well into the Third Reich. They praised the forced sterilization of people by Hitler’s Germany, and the Nazi ideas on race “purity.” It was John D. Rockefeller III, a life-long advocate of eugenics, who used his “tax free” foundation money to initiate the population reduction neo-Malthusian movement through his private Population Council in New York beginning in the 1950’s. The idea of using vaccines to covertly reduce births in the Third World is also not new. Bill Gates’ good friend, David Rockefeller and his Rockefeller Foundation were involved as early as 1972 in a major project together with WHO and others to perfect another “new vaccine.” —William Engdahl, author of “Seeds of Destruction”, engdahl.oilgeopolitics.net, “Bill Gates talks about ‘vaccines to reduce population’”, March 4th, 2010

In a controversial TED talk, Bill Gates whimsically asserted:

The world today has 6.8 billion people. That’s headed up to about nine billion. Now, if we do a really great job on new vaccines, health care, reproductive health services, we could lower that by, perhaps, 10 or 15 percent. —TED talk, February 20th, 2010; cf. the 4:30 mark

Or in the words of Ebenezer Scrooge: “If they would rather die they had better do it and decrease the surplus population.”[6]cf. “Bill Gates is funding wireless, remote-controlled, injectable birth control devices”

Pope St. John Paul II spoke openly of an ‘objective “conspiracy against life”, involving even international Institutions…'[7]Evangelium Vitae, n. 17

Today not a few of the powerful of the earth act in the same way [like the Pharoah of old]… rather than wishing to face and solve these serious problems with respect for the dignity of individuals and families and for every person’s inviolable right to life, they prefer to promote and impose by whatever means a massive programme of birth control. —POPE JOHN PAUL II, Evangelium Vitae, “The Gospel of Life”, n. 16

Of course, the notion that the planet is overpopulated is a myth. Western nations in particular are aborting and contracepting themselves out of existence in what is rightly called a “demographic winter.” Hence, Pope Leo XIII foresaw the beginnings of a mass deception unfolding on an apocalyptic scale, one where people would openly deny the truth:

…he who resists the truth through malice and turns away from it, sins most grievously against the Holy Ghost. In our days this sin has become so frequent that those dark times seem to have come which were foretold by St. Paul, in which men, blinded by the just judgment of God, should take falsehood for truth, and should believe in “the prince of this world,” who is a liar and the father thereof, as a teacher of truth: “God shall send them the operation of error, to believe lying (2 Thess 2:10). In the last times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to spirits of error and the doctrines of devils” (1 Tim 4:1). —Divinum Illud Munus, n. 10

Anticipating the Era of Peace

There’s other things our present Pope Leo XIV has already said that bears more significance than perhaps we realize — notably his first words on the balcony of St. Peter’s:

Peace be with you all!Vatican News, May 8, 2025

Like St. John Paul II’s “Be not afraid,” these words of peace seem to carry within them the same prophetic kernel pointing to a future of peace that was promised at Fatima after these years of tribulation are over.[8]see The Church’s Calvary After all, it was at Fatima that the warnings of Pope Leo XIII in Rerum Novarum were to take on flesh, as it were, with Our Lady’s apparition that would be followed weeks later by the Communist revolution in Russia:

If my requests are heeded, Russia will be converted, and there will be peace; if not, she will spread her errors throughout the world, causing wars and persecutions of the Church. The good will be martyred; the Holy Father will have much to suffer; various nations will be annihilated. In the end, my Immaculate Heart will triumph. The Holy Father will consecrate Russia to me, and she shall be converted, and a period of peace will be granted to the world. —Message of Fatima, vatican.va

Indeed, after all the dangers that Leo XIII foresaw, his, too, was a vision of peace that would eventually triumph after this period of unparalleled pride, which will find its incarnation in the Antichrist.[9]cf. Rethinking the End Times I’m assuming that Leo XIV is as acquainted with the hope of a new era as much as his predecessors (see The Popes and the Dawning Era).

When men’s minds are raised to such a height of insolent pride, what wonder is it that the greater part of the human race should have fallen into such disquiet of mind and be buffeted by waves so rough that no one is suffered to be free from anxiety and peril?… Hence that abundance of evils which have now for a long time settled upon the world, and which pressingly call upon us to seek for help from Him by whose strength alone they can be driven away…. We must have recourse to Him who is the Way, the Truth and the Life. We have gone astray and we must return to the right path: darkness has overshadowed our minds, and the gloom must be dispelled by the light of truth: death has seized upon us, and we must lay hold of life. It will at length be possible that our many wounds be healed and all justice spring forth again with the hope of restored authority; that the splendors of peace be renewed, and swords and arms drop from the hand when all men shall acknowledge the empire of Christ and willingly obey His word, and “Every tongue shall confess that our Lord Jesus Christ is in the glory of God the Father”Annum Sacrumn. 10-11
