It Will Be Too Late

This past Sunday, the Mass readings once again alluded to the times we’re living in. The Gospel spoke of those who are saved at the last hour, while the prophet Isaiah wrote:

Seek the LORD while He may be found, call upon Him while He is near. (Isaiah 55:6)

Isaiah’s prophecies, according to the Early Church Fathers, are essentially about a coming “Era of Peace.”^[1]cf.How the Era was Lost They not only echo the Book of Revelation’s prophecy that Jesus will reign over the nations with an “iron rod,” that is, the Divine Will,^[2]cf. The Iron Rod but that it will be preceded and prepared for by a “time of mercy”: Seek the Lord while He may be found.

 

The Time of Mercy

Fast forward to our times and the dramatic vision the children of Fatima saw when an angel was about to strike Earth with a flaming sword. Suddenly, the Blessed Mother appeared, stopping the angel, who then looked down upon the world and cried out three words: “Penance, penance, penance!” ^[3]cf. Fatima and the Great Shaking With that, we entered into a “time of mercy,” which Jesus would later confirm to St. Faustina:

I saw the Lord Jesus, like a king in great majesty, looking down upon our earth with great severity; but because of His Mother’s intercession He prolonged the time of His mercy… “I am prolonging the time of mercy for the sake of [sinners]. But woe to them if they do not recognize this time of My visitation… Before the Day of Justice, I am sending the Day of Mercy…” —Divine Mercy in My Soul, Diary, n. 126I, 1160, 1588

Clearly, Jesus is warning that some people will fail to recognize the grace and time they are being given to convert. Given that this message was conveyed nearly a hundred years ago, we can infer that forces were already at work in the world, spiritually and significantly blinding the unrepentant. Moreover, it’s clear that if we have entered a “time of mercy,” then that time will expire.^[4]cf. Opening Wide the Doors of Mercy But when?

 

Last Call

It would seem a “last call” to souls began on June 24, 1981, when Our Lady started appearing to six children in the mountainous region of former Yugoslavia near the village of Medjugorje. (The Vatican has granted the apparitions there a Nihil Obstat. The Ruini Commission, established by Pope Benedict XVI, also concluded that the first seven apparitions were “constat de supernaturalitate” [determined to be supernatural], though the commission’s report has not been officially adopted.)

The Blessed Virgin said to the children very early on:

Hasten your conversion, do not await the Sign (the Third Secret) which has been announced, for people who do not believe, it will be too late. —The Medjugorje Messages: 1981-2013, n. 88, medjugorje.org; cf. Ten Secrets: The Hidden Prophecies of Medjugorje and the Path to Peace, Dr. Thomas Petrisko (St. Andrew’s Productions), p. 33

The “Sign”, according to the seers, will be left on Apparition Hill when the apparitions are over, and “will be beautiful, permanent, indestructible, and will remain on the hill until the end of the world.”^[5]Vicka Ivanković-Mijatović, interview with Fr. Livio of Radio Maria, September 17, 2026 Mysteriously, it will also be “too late” for those “who do not believe.” Hence, in 1985, Our Lady repeated:

Now is the time for conversion. I have been exhorting you for the last four years. Be converted before it will be too late. —Messages and Teachings of Mary at Medjugorje, Fr. René Laurentin and Fr. René Lejeune, p. 204; Ibid.

Twenty years later, she continued this plea:

Today, the Lord permitted me to tell you again that you live in a time of grace. You are not conscious, little children, that God is giving you a great opportunity to convert… —The Medjugorje Messages: 1981-2013, n. 195, medjugorje.org; Ibid.

The question is why will such a miraculous sign be “too late” for some?

 

The Strong Delusion

According to Jesus, at the end of the age, there will be a great sifting. 

While everyone was asleep his enemy came and sowed weeds all through the wheat, and then went off. When the crop grew and bore fruit, the weeds appeared as well….His slaves said to [the Master], ‘Do you want us to go and pull them up?’ He replied, ‘No, if you pull up the weeds you might uproot the wheat along with them. Let them grow together until harvest; then at harvest time I will say to the harvesters, “First collect the weeds and tie them in bundles for burning; but gather the wheat into my barn.” (Matt 13:24-30)

Jesus explained to His Apostles that the one who sowed the weeds was Satan, “the father of lies.”^[6]cf. John 8:44

…the field is the world, the good seed the children of the kingdom. The weeds are the children of the evil one, and the enemy who sows them is the devil. The harvest is the end of the age…

This is a rather sobering Scripture. Because while our generation has been falsely led to believe that everyone goes to Heaven and that Hell is empty, if it exists at all,^[7]cf. Hell is For Real Jesus speaks of those who become the “children of the evil one.” That’s a far cry from the religious indifferentism of our times. So, while it is true that God “wills everyone to be saved and to come to knowledge of the truth,”^[8]1 Timothy 2:4 it’s clear not everyone will be. Moreover, at the end of this age, we are told that God will sift these souls from among the righteous. How?

St. Paul warned that, at the time of a coming Antichrist, the “lawless one”, God is going to hand over “those who are perishing because they have not accepted the love of truth so that they may be saved.”^[9]2 Thess 2:10 

Therefore, God is sending them a deceiving power so that they may believe the lie, that all who have not believed the truth but have approved wrongdoing may be condemned. (2 Thess 2:11-12)

The RSV translation says God is sending a “strong delusion,” while the Douay-Rheims gives perhaps the clearest idea of this deceiving power: an “operation of error, to believe lying.” People will accept lies as truth, to the point that they even forgo their salvation. 

Here are three examples of how this deceiving power is clearly at work in the world…. 

 

I. The Popes Have Already Declared It!

Pope after pope, beginning particularly with Leo XIII, have explicitly referenced 2 Thessalonians 2 and this passage on the strong delusion. Pope Leo XIII stated:

…he who resists the truth through malice and turns away from it, sins most grievously against the Holy Ghost. In our days this sin has become so frequent that those dark times seem to have come which were foretold by St. Paul, in which men, blinded by the just judgment of God, should take falsehood for truth, and should believe in “the prince of this world,” who is a liar and the father thereof, as a teacher of truth: “God shall send them the operation of error, to believe lying (2 Thess. ii., 10). In the last times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to spirits of error and the doctrines of devils” (1 Tim. iv., 1). —Divinum Illud Munus, n. 10

Pope Pius XI foresaw, particularly in the spread of Communism, foreshadowings of the coming of Antichrist:

Christian people, sadly disheartened and disrupted, are continually in danger of falling away from the faith, or of suffering the most cruel death. These things in truth are so sad that you might say that such events foreshadow and portend the “beginning of sorrows,” that is to say of those that shall be brought by the man of sin, “who is lifted up above all that is called God or is worshipped.” (2 Thessalonians ii, 4). —Miserentissimus Redemptor, Encyclical Letter on Reparation to the Sacred Heart, May 8th, 1928

Cardinal Ratzinger, who became Pope Benedict XVI, concluded in a homily that, in fact, there has now arisen…

…a dictatorship of relativism that recognizes nothing as definite, and which leaves as the ultimate measure only one’s ego and desires. Having a clear faith, according to the credo of the Church, is often labeled as fundamentalism. Yet, relativism, that is, letting oneself be tossed and ‘swept along by every wind of teaching’, appears the sole attitude acceptable to today’s standards. —pre-conclave Homily, April 18th, 2005

 

2. The Embrace of Communism

At Fatima, Our Lady warned that Communism, or at least “the errors of Russia”, would spread throughout the world unless we heeded her instructions and call to repentance. But we didn’t listen; “Russia has invaded the world with her errors,” wrote Fatima seer Sr. Lucia in a letter to Pope John Paul II.^[10]May 12th, 1982 Marxism, practical atheism, rationalism, moral relativism, radical feminism, socialism, and so on, have not only spread but are now coming to a head, like weeds alongside wheat at the time of harvest.^[11]cf. Who would have thought we’d see the day when self-described Communists and Socialists would make a run for the presidency of the United States?^[12]cf. yahoo.com Who would have thought that once Christian nations, like Canada, would align themselves with Communist China, declaring their alliance the “new world order”?^[13]Prime Minister Mark Carney, youtube.com Who could have foreseen the revolutionary rise of youth marching and rioting in the streets, calling for an end to capitalism?^[14]cf. Exposing This Revolutionary Spirit

3. The Test Run: COVID

This will be difficult for some to hear.

Note again that St. Paul warns of an “operation of error, to believe lying.” Perhaps an element of this is mass propaganda that peaked, particularly with the COVID pandemic, and continues with a false “climate change” narrative being used as a pretext for the “Great Reset” — a neo-communist order that will ultimately monitor and restrict every human being’s commerce and movement.^[15]cf. The Final Revolution

But let’s consider the facts. 

During what the World Health Organization defined as a “pandemic,” expert scientists and doctors, despite media claims, were warning that the experimental mRNA gene therapies were not “safe and effective” and could, in fact, injure or kill you. They were mocked,^[16]“Racist”, “Misogynistic”, “Murderers”, “Extremist”, “Anti-science”, “Dangerous”… These are just some of the terms that were used, not only in the media, but by Canada’s own Prime Minister. censored, and canceled as tens of millions of people lined up to be injected.^[17]As a former news journalist, I, too, warned as loud as I could, as I combed through the data and studies that were being censored. I wrote an Open Letter to the Catholic Bishops and produced several short videos and a documentary to warn as many people as possible. LinkedIn permanently deleted my account; Twitter suspended me; Facebook censored my posts; and YouTube deleted my videos. 

Fast forward to the present. Utilizing 14 different estimation methods from official public data, a new conservative analysis estimates that 1 in 1000 people died from the shot.^[18]kirschsubstack.com That’s over 5 million killed worldwide with countless millions more injured,^[19]cf. The Tolls many permanently. Rancourt et al.’s study^[20]correlation-canada.org/covid-excess-mortality-125-countries/ shows over 17 million killed by the COVID “vaccines,” and 31 million deaths in total through government interventions, such as lockdowns and other interventions.

It’s hardly conjecture. Tens of thousands of testimonies have (finally) made their way uncensored onto social media and into public inquiries, such as the U.S. House of Representatives Panel on Injuries Caused by COVID-19 Vaccines^[21]Hosted by Senator Ron Johnson: “Voices of the Vaccine Injured” or the Allison Inquiry that just wrapped up emotional and devastating testimony in Ottawa, Canada,^[22]cf. youtube leading one mainstream journalist there to declare:

We have witnessed the biggest health policy mistake in Canadian history at best, or a crime against humanity at worst. —Irvin Studin, Toronto Sun, September 17, 2026

How did Canada’s Health Minister respond? “Vaccines are safe and effective, and they save lives. We hope that all Parliamentarians… will work together to combat misinformation. We have no comment on the Allison Inquiry.”^[23]Global News; cf. “Canada’s Shame – The Allison Inquiry” That, my friends, is the “operation of error, to believe lying.” The fact that Canada’s Vaccine Injury Support Program has already paid out $18.1 million in compensation is proof enough that the Canadian government is itself the direct source of misinformation.^[24]cf. “Canada’s Shame – The Allison Inquiry”

What’s remarkable is that doctors, some of whom aren’t even Christians, employed words similar to St. Paul’s over what has, and is still taking place:

Here is the point: people were led to believe they were “following the science” when it was anything but — even when presented with hard evidence. Fear, social pressure, and propaganda played an immense role in the psychosis.

If a miraculous “Sign” is left on Apparition Hill, will those who have hardened themselves to truth blindly follow those who will explain away the miracle in mere scientific terms? Is this one reason why it will be “too late” for them?

 

While There is Still Time

While we may not necessarily be standing at the gates of Hell, we are certainly approaching the end of this “time of mercy,” this “time of grace.” In 2007, Medjugorje seer Mirjana Dragićević put it plainly: “Our Lady said that this time in which we live is a time of decision.”^[25]“The Time in Which We Live is a Time of Decision”, Sabrina Smetko, Medjugorje Magazine, Vol. 17, n. 1, Spring 2007, p. 26; cf. Ten Secrets: The Hidden Prophecies of Medjugorje and the Path to Peace, Dr. Thomas Petrisko (St. Andrew’s Productions), p. 36

In a recent apparition to Brazilian seer Pedro Regis, Our Lady has allegedly said:

You are heading toward a future of great spiritual battle… Be vigilant. What I have foretold to you in the past will come to pass. Whatever happens, remain faithful to the Church of My Son, Jesus. A secret will be revealed, and there will be great confusion in the palace.^[26]A reference to the Vatican palace? Behold, the Time of Sorrows has come. —September 17, 2026; countdowntothekingdom.com

Is this a signal that the “ten secrets” given to the children at Medjugorje, and elsewhere, are soon to unfold? Given that the daily news and our descent into chaos reads more and more like the seven seals of Revelation, it would not be surprising. Is this perhaps underscored in a recent viral video in which an American priest experienced the weight of Christ’s suffering during the Consecration? In the video below, Fr. Brent Bowman was left sobbing, unable to lift the chalice. In his own words:

I believe I was given grace to understand more deeply the bittersweetness of Our Lord’s Passion and how much blood Christ shed for the immense weight of all our sins. —Fr. Brent Bowman, St. Gabriel’s Catholic Church, Hopkins, Minnesota, USA; cf. A Eucharistic Encounter

Yes, a cup is in the LORD’S hand, foaming wine, fully spiced. When God pours it out, they will drain it even to the dregs; all the wicked of the earth must drink. But I will rejoice forever; I will sing praise to the God of Jacob, who has said: “I will break off all the horns of the wicked, but the horns of the just shall be lifted up.” (Psalm 75:9-11)

Here again, Scripture speaks of a Great Sifting of the wicked from the just. 

This is all to say: If you have not yet made yourself right with God; if you are living in grave sin; if you have stopped going to Mass or receiving the Sacraments — and you’re reading or listening to this — then it’s not too late. This is the moment of your return.

How many more moments will God give us?

Now is the time to say to Jesus: “Lord, I have let myself be deceived; in a thousand ways I have shunned your love, yet here I am once more, to renew my covenant with you. I need you. Save me once again, Lord, take me once more into your redeeming embrace”. How good it feels to come back to Him whenever we are lost! Let me say this once more: God never tires of forgiving us; we are the ones who tire of seeking his mercy. —POPE FRANCIS, Evangelium Gaudium, n. 3
